I have some news for you

Praying has not put food in my mouth, nor anyone else's.

@xtripled one of us has to be exaggerating. When do people randomly come up to you and start preaching? That doesn't seem to make sense no matter where you are. But I was obviously exaggerating that atheists only exist on the internet. Obviously. But okay, I guess people preach where you are. And if I can't make the generalization that they never preach, then others shouldn't be able to generalize that religious people shove it down everyone's throats.
I don't see religious people preaching either besides at church. I guess the people where I live are just less evangelical about it than where you live. I've lived in a small southern California town with mostly Mexicans a.k.a. catholics, and for the past 8 years lived in a super white town with people who say they're Christian but probably never go to church. Only a few people have ever said they were atheist.

But yeah, it's not my freakin' fault I live in a smallish town (40,000) so what am I supposed to do about it? I'm not narrow minded, anyway. Ignorance? Hah. That's the most over used and incorrectly used on the internet. Shut up about ignorance, everyone is so-called ignorant to some degree.
@icemage11 in case you wanted to read his reply

I know you usually answer threads based on your personal experiences but you have to acknowledge that your life won't always replicate what's happening else where. Now i know you know this, but you constantly provide answers such as "well, where i live, this doesn't happen, so therefore i don't think it happens else where" which is false. You're ignorant, we're all ignorant about something, you're right but being ignorant in other subjects has nothing to do with this thread. She said you're ignorant about this topic, which you are. People constantly preach about their religion in my area. Whether that be at school or when i'm walking the streets down town. Okay, you only see atheists online, but that doesn't mean they don't exist else where.

@fradddd: You're an idiot. So you know 3 atheists IRL that must mean there are almost no atheists IRL? You don't see religious people preaching online or IRL so that must mean they don't ever? I've had people knocking on my door every weekend telling me about God and trying to make me believe what they believe. I've had people stop me on the streets when I'm trying to get to class asking if I want to hear about God.

Are you from a small US town or something? That would explain your ignorance and narrow-mindedness.

That's not exactly true.
The Catholic Church has a gross national product rivaling many countries around the world. Their bishops and cardinals certainly aren't going hungry at night.
Many "televangelists" like Pat Roberts have made good livings preying on people's praying (and sending him their money).
The "religious right" is awash with money from people duped into sending money to "causes". Start a religious freedom cause, set up a fund and you'll be dining in style.
What? You just don't see us shoving our beliefs (or a lack of belief rather) down people's throats in real life like religious people do.
Mmm...no, that's not it...good try though.
About shoving beliefs down throats....I only see atheists do that. On the internet. Never seen atheists or religious people do it in real life, and I never see religious people do it on the internet.

I know about three atheists IRL.

@Quasar: "people gave you food prayer didn't" Yes, but the thing about faith is that you believe God's grace is what let those people enter your life and allowed you to eat. Im not even christian youre just an ass.

Praying just gives us the "illusion" that God is giving us moral/emotional support from up above. It doesn't actually do anything in reality, from what I've seen.

No it has not but praying does give you emotional support when
You lose your job that both you and your kids need to survive. Personally
I dont like people who only pray thinking that it will fix all the problems
They have. But there is a time when praying does help..
