What's the hang up with being 'godly'?

I don't get it? I mean, why would you spend 2b on a pair of gloves to have more damage?
Don't get me wrong, I know that for some people that's part of the fun of it all. But for some it seems like that's all that matters?
I'm perfectly fine with having normal damage and not spending my mesos (I don't spend them on anything but potions cause I'm cheap)

So I just wanted to know what people thought of this I guess.

Well, the reason why people are willing to spend billions of Mesos to be godly, comes down to one simple thing. Human Nature. People naturally have a competitive nature, this is the basis of the capitalist system, and the strive to better than others is what causes people to be "damage whores." Why does anyone want to be rich? Why do people want to get first place in competitions? Why are there competitions in the first place? People are very competitive in nature and people that want to be better than others are what drive the American economy so of course this nature is going to be applied in a simple game. No matter how old you are you are going to want to be the best, or at least better than others in something and for some people its damage in this game.
I bet you're considering that if you buy godly equips with 25k NX, it isn't 2bil, so it won't be godly.
that's not at all what I'm thinking. Why would you assume that? :o

Well, im sure you'll say i look like a henehoe. But my equips aren't bad.

I had 540 magic, its kinda good for a mage at my level. (i think)

For others, showing off. It's a matter of pride, sort of like henehoes but much more exclusive.

For me, all i care about is being strong enough to fend off ksers. Still though, if i have mesos and nothing to do with em, im gonna spend them to get stronger.
