Uhmm FML for DrK
So i stayed up buying a VIP spear, and spent all my money buying 9 50%s.. this cost me my pac and my fs my 2 most costliest things... 2/7 worked on vip. didn't want it boomed on 2nd enhance. got pissed off enhanced my reverse. boomed. no spear no shoes no cape... GRR FML but at least i have 2 pink scrolls and 64m time to remerch again.....

I had a similar situation as you were having. It is that a couple months ago I boom my Reverse Alchupiz by the first enhancement and later my ski by the second enhancement. The lesson is you should not be too greedy about the 2~4 extra atk that enhancement may give with the potential to destroy your weapon. Anyways, with no backup spear and funds to buy another decent one, I manage to maker and 60% scroll a Pinaka as my temporary weapon. Why this? Because I know in the upcoming Big Bang update pole arms will have no difference with spears in terms of the stab/slash ratio, meaning drks can use a pole arm for crusher and have the same atk efficiency as a spear that has the same stats. Therefore a clean Crimson Arcglaive is definitely going to surpass a clean sky ski and it will be one of the best weapons in terms of atk speed and DPM for drks in post-Big Bang. So I spend a few days collecting the materials especially Crimson Woods to make my own Arcglaive. The process is time-consuming, but it is definitely worthwhile, knowing the benefits you will get from this pole arm in post-Big Bang.

You don't need a spear to train, just use a clean ski/impaler.

unless you can guarentee regaining the stats off your cape and shoe immediately off the upgrade betwen the reverse to the VIP spear, and then gaining and getting stronger in the process, you shouldn't have done so.
you don't ever want to leave yourself in such a poor position unless you're willing to sit there and not have gear to do stuff with =
so the vip's like high 12x, low 13x... toss on a couple enhancements, if you can get it to 14x its not bad to work with especially with the higher potential tier, so not all is lost.
