The Tower of Oz

Alicia, the Transcendent of Life of Maple World, created a tower under the sea to protect many stupid monster lives when the Black Mage attacked.

Now, the guardians Alicia created to protect the Tower of Oz against invaders are out of control! You must stop Dorothy and the guardians in order to regain control of the Tower of Oz...or so you think.

Take some Stupid Pills and run through the Tower of Oz with glorious stupidity.

The Tower of Oz is a 50 floor dungeon consisting of a wide variety of challenges.

You can start the Tower of Oz through the quest [Tower of Oz] Tower Under the Sea in the lightbulb. You can return to the Tower of Oz through the Dimensional Mirror.

Requirements and Limitations

  • Level 140 or higher for entry.
  • Damage requirement is low until you go beyond Floor 46.
  • Soloing and partying are both viable options.
  • Some floors are soloable only.
  • The Stupid Timer has a base time of 10 minutes and can be expanded up to 1 hour and 30 minutes with Stupid Pills.
  • You can only go through 200 total floors a day.
  • Logging out on any stage that is not a rest stage will finish your run.

Witch Shop

In the Lobby, Glinda sells a variety of items in exchange for Oz Points.

Stupid Pills

  • Prescription Stupid Pills cannot be traded. Generic Stupid Pills are tradeable, but they cost twice as much to purchase and give less Stupid Time than Prescription Stupid Pills.
  • The best Stupid Pill to purchase is the Prescription Pants-On Head Stupid Pill. It has the best value; you usually shouldn't buy any other Stupid Pill in normal circumstances.

Stupid Pill Expansion

  • Talk to Alicia's Soul in the Lobby to expand your Stupid Pill slots. These values may seem large, but once you get going, it gets easy to get points.
  • To get started with the Oz Points required to get your Stupid Pill slots expanded, clear Floor 01 then enter Floor 02 and exit through the Clever Lady Hotline and repeat. Open the boxes that she awards you; they have a good chance at rewarding Oz Pouches, which gives Oz Points upon opening.

General Tips

  • The Clever Lady Hotline is given to you upon completion of the tutorial. You may use it to return to the Lobby at any point in your run. Using it on Floor 23 and Floor 33 will allow you to be brought back up and reset the stage respectively.
  • Get a pet with the Item Pouch skill. This is a must.
  • Kishin Shoukan is a great skill for the Tower of Oz.
  • The Guild skill, Rise, Minions!, has a special effect in the Tower of Oz. It works on yourself, meaning if you die alone, you can continue on by using the skill while you're dead, reviving yourself.
  • Respawn Tokens and Respawn Passes do not work in the Tower of Oz.
  • The Tower of Oz Practice Ticket lets you enter any floor for practice. This will put you in the actual live floor that you choose, allowing you to help friends out if they need assistance in their real run or if you just need some practice. It's also good for setting floors up, such as with Floor 21. Any currently equipped Stupid Pill will be used when you go to a floor with a Practice Ticket.
  • Floor 43 is a floor where Fleta will ask you various questions about your quest throughout the Tower of Oz. Floor 43 questions are listed throughout this guide on each floor that has Floor 43 questions, and again on Floor 43's tutorial. It is highly recommended that you grab a video recorder to record your run if you can reach Floor 43. Prepare Floor 43 questions on the rest stages if you can as you go.
  • You can switch on and off the tutorials that appear at the beginning of every stage by talking to Alicia's Soul.
  • Creating a party and trying to enter the next floor will freeze the Stupid Timer if the next map a map that does not allow parties.
  • Staying in a tutorial will not consume Stupid Time. You can use this to your advantage to AFK or wait for a friend.
  • There are bosses every 10 floors, and a rest stage at Floor 05 and every 10 floors after that.
  • Finley, a flying monkey, will appear after a certain amount of time on some floors and proceed to kill you if you stay too long in that floor.

Emblems

  • Based on your ranking, you will be awarded a Tower of Oz emblem weekly, very much like Mu Lung Dojo currently. This will show up in the event star. The rankings reset every week on Monday at midnight.
  • Rank 1 Emblem: Tower of Oz Legend Emblem: All Stats: +20, Weapon and Magic ATT: +5, Ignores 40% of the enemy's DEF when attacking, Ignores 30% of the enemy's DEF when attacking, ATT: +12% (gives Magic ATT: +12% if a mage class), Potential Reset Not Allowed, Time limit extension is not possible, Untradeable, Expires after 1 week
  • Rank 2-10 Emblem: Tower of Oz Master Emblem: All Stats: +15, Weapon and Magic ATT: +5, Ignores 40% of the enemy's DEF when attacking, Damage to Bosses: +40%, Damage to Bosses: +30%, Potential Reset Not Allowed, Time limit extension is not possible, Untradeable, Expires after 1 week
  • Rank 11-30 Emblem: Tower of Oz Expert Emblem: All Stats: +15, Weapon and Magic ATT: +3, Damage to Bosses: +30%, Ignores 30% of the enemy's DEF when attacking, Total Damage: +9%, Potential Reset Not Allowed, Time limit extension is not possible, Untradeable, Expires after 1 week

Floor 00 - The Lobby

Objective: Equip your Stupid Pills.

Floor 43 question

  • How many Oz Points did you have when entering Floor 01?

Floor 01 - Let's Start

Objective: Kill 100 Ancient Blue Slime and Ancient Purple Slime in total or deal 50 million damage in total.

Information and tips for this floor

  • You can clear this floor much faster if you're more funded, but it's not very difficult to kill 100 monsters if you're unable to do much damage.
  • Use your highest damaging skills if you're aiming to deal 50 million damage, of course.

Floor 43 questions

  • How much damage did you deal? Enter numbers only (e.g. 101252493).
  • How many monsters did you kill in total?

Floor 02 - I Didn't Start Maple to Play with Cards...

Objective: Trick all the barriers with higher number cards.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Turn off pet looting for this floor, otherwise this floor will be very, very difficult.
  • When you loot a card dropped by a monster, there will be a colored card over your head. You can only use that card on the barrier of the same color. Press up on the barrier to pass the barrier if you have a higher number than the barrier has. Only exception: Violet cards will work on any barrier regardless of color and number.

Floor 43 questions

  • What was the first card that you picked up? (e.g. Green 4)
  • What was the number of the card you used to trick the Green barrier?
  • What was the number of the card you used to trick the Red barrier?
  • What was the number of the card you used to trick the Yellow barrier?
  • What was the number of the card you used to trick the Blue barrier?
  • What was the last card that you picked up?
  • How many cards did you pick up in total?
  • Note: do not use Violet cards to trick the barriers. It is currently glitched if you answer with Violet. If you end up using a Violet for whatever reason, try 0 as your answer instead of Violet.

Floor 03 - Collect Eggs. To Eat? Maybe...

Objective: Collect 1,000 Ancient Blue Turtle Eggs and Ancient Orange Eggs in total.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Turn back on your pet loot for this stage.
  • Don't bet with an NPC. It's not worth it. You should be able to make 2-4 rounds around the map to get enough eggs to proceed to the next floor. The only reason why you would bet is if you don't have a pet that can loot.
  • Take out your drop rate gear and Big Spider/Wolf Underling familiar for an increased drop rate of eggs.

Floor 43 question

  • How many times did you select x for the betting?

Floor 04 - Tight Rope

Objective: Kill monsters to reach 300 Balance Points.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Falling to the pit below the map will send you back up to the last side you were on.

Floor 43 question

  • How many Balance Points did you lose?

Floor 05 - Rest Stage 1

Objective: Rest.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Congratulations! You've reached the first rest stage. In these stages, which appear starting on Floor 05 and every 10 floors beyond, your Stupid Timer will not deplete. You are also free to log out. Your progress will be saved upon logging out, so don't worry.
  • Use this moment to let skills cool down, switch equips, and party up.
  • Party up for Floor 06, as that will be a killing quest. The kills count for all party members just like any other quest.

Floor 06 - Kill Some Slimes and Maybe a King

Objective: Kill 300 Slimes. A King Slime kill counts as 30 Slimes.

Information and tips for this floor

  • King Slimes disappear after 10 seconds. Be sure to hunt it down immediately. There will be a blue notification in your chat window notifying you that a King Slime has appeared.
  • The next map is a solo only floor, meaning you can freeze the Stupid Timer by pressing up on the end portal while in a party.

Floor 43 question

  • How many King Slimes did you kill?

Floor 07 - Kishin is Nice Here

Objective: Kill all the Lupins while protecting Ripley, the injured adventurer.

Floor 08 - Volcanic Killing

Objective: Kill 100 monsters.

Information and tips for this floor

  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 43 question

  • How many monsters did you kill?

Floor 09 - Romeo & Juliet Teleport Maze in Reverse

Objective: Reach the end.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Start out with trying out the rightmost platform. You'll be teleported to the leftmost platform if the rightmost platform is wrong, therefore saving a little bit of time.
  • If you get a platform wrong, just keep in your head that it cannot be that one, then try the rest. Process of elimination works well.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor through pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 43 questions

  • What was the correct platform of the xth row down? (1 to 4 from left to right)
  • How many times were you sent back up because you selected the wrong platform?

Floor 10 - Spidery Doom

Objective: Kill the boss.

Information and tips for this floor

  • This boss isn't too difficult. Relatively low HP, but it does have a damage reflect skill. It's as obvious as the Crimson Queen's, however. You have a life counter in here, so even if you do die, it shouldn't be an issue.
  • The Giant Spider has 400m HP.

Floor 11 - Kill Golems

Objective: Kill 300 Black Flower and Flower Golems total.

Floor 43 question

  • How many Black Flower Golems did you yourself kill? (Not your party. Just you.)

Floor 12 - Simple Minimap is a Blessing

Objective: Reach the end.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Turn on simple minimap in the System Options. This way, you can see the invisible gaps at the end stretch.
  • There are certain pathways that will send you backwards. These are instanced, meaning that if you see a friend get teleported back from one pathway, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be sent back through that same pathway.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor through pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 13 - Azwan Defense Mode Makes a Return?

Objective: Kill 80 monsters in total.

  • How many Green Flower Cows did you kill? (15 appear in their specific wave + random amount in the final wave)

Floor 14 - Shoot 'em Up!

Objective: Shoot all the monsters.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Rather than trying to aim at the monsters while they fly around, wait at a spot and shoot them when they come there.
  • Touch screens may or may not have a large advantage in this.

Floor 15 - What a Stretch! Rest Stage 2

Objective: Rest.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Party up for Floor 16, as that is another killing quest.

Floor 16 - Kill Some Reptiles

  • You can hit the coconut trees for a guaranteed chance at dropping 1 Coconut.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 19 - Guide Her! Hopefully not Kishin'd

Objective: Guide Fleta to the end alive.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Don't stray from Fleta or let her die, otherwise you will be kicked out of the tower.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 20 - One Heartless Boss

Objective: Kill the boss.

Information and tips for this floor

  • If you're a Bowmaster or a Marksman, the Hookshot skill will bind the boss if you use it on him while he's charging up the tin.
  • Using a skill that does significant knockback will bind the boss if you use it on him while he's charging up the tin.
  • The Tin Woodman has 1b HP.

Floor 21 - Don't Run in My Channel

Objective: Kill Eliza.

Information and tips for this floor

  • Killing 300 monsters will summon Eliza.
  • To count, you can open your Medal Inventory and start the challenge Veteran Hunter to count the monsters.
  • You can use a Tower of Oz Practice Ticket to get here and set the floor up by killing 299 monsters. When you arrive on your real run, you can just kill one monster, and voila, Eliza will appear.
  • Eliza will disappear after a short amount of time. Make sure to kill her quickly.

Floor 43 question

  • How many monsters did you yourself kill? (Not including Eliza, and not including kills done by your party.)

Floor 22 - A Jump Quest

Information and tips for this floor

  • Take this moment to party up.

Floor 26 - Summon and Kill

  • You can only summon 2 consecutive times in a row without killing anything. If you try to summon more than what's allowed by the map, Alicia won't allow you to.

Floor 43 questions

  • How many times did you successfully summon Orange Slimes?
  • How many Orange Slime Liquids did you pick up? (If you're solo: (total of drops * 10) + # taken away when entering the next floor)

  • Vertical jump skills and teleports do in fact work on this floor, giving a large advantage to those that can maneuver high up.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 48 - The Simple Minimap Really is a Blessing

Objective: Guide Fleta to the end alive.

Information and tips for this floor:

  • Simple minimap. Use it. Don't fall, or you're pretty much done for.
  • Make sure to clear the path for Fleta to go through. If she dies, you will be kicked out of the tower.
  • Don't kill the monsters too far ahead of Fleta, because she won't stop for you except at certain points. You need her to stop and kill some monsters if you're lagging behind. If you get too far from her, you will be kicked out of the tower.
  • You can freeze the Stupid Timer on this floor pressing up on the end portal in a party.

Floor 49 - Thank You, Crusader Codex

  • Dorothy has a reverse Magnus aura, meaning that you should stay away from her to deal your full damage.
  • Dorothy has no physical resist, but has the same amount of defense as Chaos Vellum (300% PDR).
