Does anyone play YuGiOh?

Title.

I do, obviously.
I run Gem-Knights and Chaos Plant Synchro in real life.

Also, anyone want to duel on Dueling Network?

The last cards from YuGiOh I got were in 2004 when the movie came out. Does that make me Hipster?
My Magic the Gathering deck probably costs about... $200, and that's just a fun deck I play which is still an extremely hard to beat deck. Even a competitive deck wouldn't exceed this amount.

My Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon deck cost at least $500 to build, if I were to have bought all of the cards. And, to make it remotely competitive in tournaments where players take the game way too seriously, I'd probably have to break the $700 range, at the least.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is by far a more expensive game than Magic since the most expensive cards are the ones that literally everyone needs.
That's not true. I've built competitive decks for 60 dollars.
The most I've paid for a (competitive, mind you) deck was 130 dollars.

You guys just aren't building it on a) a budget or b) waiting for reprints.

@Meiru:
I want an old-school deck. :[

I run a deck full of really old cards (magic cards that still say "magic card" instead of "spell card" lol) and some newer-ish ones. It's pretty good, actually. It has a nice strong defense and annoying card effects. Online I run a light + darkness deck.

Why, because you link intelligence to age? That's not the mindset I want to hear about. Furthermore, strategies don't have to be from the internet, and younger kids may have more creativity, meaning, they can strategize, as long as they think about it.
@crazymaster:
I don't want to either.

Duel me! Not with the stall deck though. Those are annoying.

Duel me with the Gusto or Agents.

@GameAddict209:
That's an opinion. The majority is either a) hipsters claiming only the first season is good or b) people who think 5D's is the best season.

I'm one of the people who think 5D's is the best season, and that every episode of GX/Zexal sucked. The only exception is for GX, and that's the last episode.

@DrShoking:
That sounds cool. Wanna duel on DuelingNetwork?

@DragonStrike: yes. but the combos that were pre 5d's are not NEARLY as strong or potent as those of synchros and xyz's.
PLUS the shows after GX were simply HORRIBLE.

It is if you didn't look it up on the internet. You could look up oldschool combos on the internet too. Nothing really changed.
There's decks that aren't simple, people just don't think of them.
Don't blame the game, blame the people that play the game. =.=

Black Luster Soldier : Envoy of the Beginning is unbanned. You can sell it for 45 dollars.
Monarch decks are thriving.

My favourite card is either Lesser Fiend, for nostalgia purposes, or Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer, because just summoning it makes you feel like you've won already. I mean, seriously, listen to that name.

Envoy of the Beginning is unbanned, and worth 45 dollars. Sell it.
Mirror Force is at 2.
Jinzo is at 3.
Exodia is at 1, and worth a bunch.
@foolproof: He can cheat because he's the flippin pharaoh.
5D's and Zexal (Ew, ZeXal) follow all the rules.
@GameAddict209:
A lot of GX decks take no skill to play.
A lot of 5D's decks take a lot of skill to play, but some are just autopilot.
Any creative deck takes skill to play.
Most of the Zexal decks are completely autopilot.
Any creative, underrated deck from this era takes skill to play. There isn't many, though.

@WhooyaMS:
That's outdated. All those cards got reprinted, and now Dinorabbits, which were 1000 dollars, are gonna be 50, including staples.
Blackwings, Lightsworns, and Gladiator Beasts are all about 30 dollars now, excluding staples, which bump it up to 45 or so.
I also made a fully holographic (shiny) deck for 60 dollars. It's at the top of tier 2, or the bottom of tier 1.
Magic being 100-300 is too expensive for my little wallet.

@DragonStrike: i would like to make up decks centered around 1-2 cards and play. Everyone plays with meta deck( in rated version ) it gets boring. Also in the traditional section people don't know how to play so its annoying.

I don't think that was ever very competitive, but if it was, then it's probably 6 years outdated.
@foolproof:
It's properly randomized, maybe your deck doesn't have good consistency.
Also, it doesn't take years, and you don't have to have high rating to play.
