fine, the top 100 people may as well be poor but you cannot deny that merchants have mesos. You're in Scania so we'll use the guild FMHeroes. Why aren't they targeted by hackers? Because you cannot just hack someone if you see them in game... I can go on and on for a long time explaining this topic but instead, I shall just tell you to go look on the forums for the "how to not get hacked" guide. It will explain how a hacker truly gets a hold of your password and information.

I'd prefer Empress personally because it has wep atk by default unlike your level 70+ gears, also after that, all you have to do is cube it. Psok is 200m so it isn't really a problem if you want to switch it to a different character, although i'd prefer to have separate chaos scrolled and cubed empress.

I'll probably do better off with my current items than an empress set.. I'm 187 and have no empress item at all....
too expensive to buy a nicely scrolled/potential one and cost too much to scroll/potential a good one lol.
Anyways, you can't get hacked just because your pixels are exposed in game...
A hacker with that much potential should not be wasting his time hacking peoples Maplestory accounts lol.

a better example is when rich people post their godly items on smegas. not only does it encourage a hacker to target them, but it aggravates them because their smegas are always pointless and retarded.

I walk around pros... so why a pro hack the lower kind? I don't even relax in victoria island that crusty island.

Because if you THINK about it, the first 100 people got to 200 one-two years before big bang happened, so a majority of them wouldn't have any godly gears (%). They might have godly +stat gears but thats not worth much anyways. Also do realize that after big bang this game was pay to win. Before big bang, it didn't matter what damage you had.

P.S. Its funny how unfunded people think full empress is godly. Just because it gives weapon attack and +stats doesnt make you godly. Its all about % gear. Empress gear is only worth getting if you dont mind spending money and cubing them. Thats because theres not a whole lot of pre-cubed empress gear in fm. It's actually smarter to go with tradeable lvl 70+ gears, since you can always sell them and not have to use a psok for each item. ALSO, tradeable gears will allow you to play other classes.

Well I know that hackers can't get me simply by seeing my character and I don't fall for phishing tricks and the like so I don't have much to worry about. Although that doesn't stop me from being cautious about drawing attention to myself in-game(you know, those people that like to smega their godliest items to showoff) or talking about my gear on basil. Heck, my original basil account(fell for a stupid trick that got it banned) was about 6 years old and I only had 2 or 3 instances where I even mentioned anything about my stats lol.

That being said, I'll only really start to worry when the top players of broa all start to get hacked, as they're just as cautious, if not more so, than I am. So if they get done in, then I would start to get a bit worried, since there would clearly have to be some sort of super hacker to get them all. Although I am pretty far down the food chain so I'd be safe for quite a while in the event of that very very unlikely scenario lol.

Then why haven't the top 100 ranked players been hacked already? The High scores page would be nothing but a hit-list for hackers then........

To my knowledge, the type of hacker who can particularly hack a specific Mapler from IGN alone doesn't exist atm. However, there used to be this peculiar hacker named 3ck0 (censored on basil, go figure why) who hacked accounts by knowing IGN's only, no idea if he's still around though.

Basically, it's safe to claim that all the hacking is coming from keylogging, rapid random guessing (Chinese meso farmers) and data leaks.

Please, all the hackers are too busy plotting against ibn211, crusader, and the like.

@iluvme Don't worry, it's okay, I'm using Reverse weapons and gear at lvl 120, it's really good for unfunded players.

Doesnt take much effort to be involved in events... Shining Star giving access to treasure island is a decent opportunity to make funding. Can make more than 5M each day just from the pots that drop. Ive seen some bowman empress equips go for about 15M each, dont need to be rich, just optimistic and patient.

Even before this event, merching books was easy enough when luck is on my side, made about 2B or so in 3 days... Anyone could have done this though, just that no one takes risk or plans things out as much anymore.

I am not a *rich* mapler, nor am I a *pro*, I just see opportunities that many others tend to miss and take them for what they are worth. If there were more people who would take advantage of whats offered, there would be less threads like this one. Also, Evolve Rings are the prime example of what I am talking about, those who took advantage of the event at the time earned them through patience and effort, not through funds as it is now. An answer to your question TS, no, I am not scared of those script kiddies, I dont see a reason to hold back on enjoying a video game just because they get off on bullying others and try to justify stealing from other players. You shouldnt let stuff like this hold you back, its just a game, enjoy it as it is.

I bet TS is one of those people who think that a hacker could hack you at the snap of a finger if he/she wanted to.

That's just like me lol Except I don't have the money to buy Empress. I suck at hoarding or getting mesos. Theo only way I got 100m was because of selling small things, and meso pickups. The only reason I have 11k range on my db is because I took advantage of the revamp, so no mastery books, and took advantage of some other events like tempest.

If I saw someone with Spectrum Goggles. The first thing that comes to my head is "He has billions." The point is that some people have a different perspective on money, how much some of you value 100m mesos, is waaaaay different to how some other people value 100m mesos.

I can only afford Empress since I hoard mesos and can't ever convince myself to buy. But there's something about spending 500mil for a weapon and 1 billion for a cape that irks me so I don't spend it. No one wants to hack someone using a Renegades weapon.

Full empress isn't that expensive and it's actually really common to find.
