Uh, well You can't really compare them...they are two totally different classes that both have their pro's and con's and different playing styles. However, If you want to go with power of the melee sort, then bucc is the way to go. Bucc has a lot of raw power at 4th job and once you overcome the slow and boring lvls, it is rather fast...(before the revamp, they were slow either way) For a mage, it takes more funding than a bucc...Bucc is pretty simple to get a higher range...I have absolutely no % str and my range is still around 35k... However please note that I find it difficult to find pirate things prescrolled for str than for dex...because of all the pirates that use dex as their main stat. This may depend however, on your server.
