I think it's worth it to get gear for a class you find fun, not the one that'll do better doing everything.
Luminous is an extremely fun class, and it has the potential to be an okay bossing character.

Generally, Kaiser is going to treat you better for all reasons. Luminous is better at mobbing, undoubtedly. But they (apparently) are not that great at bossing.
Kaiser is not as great as Luminous at mobbing, but they are still GOOD at it. Kaiser are great at bossing though.
