Facebook in China

Hey guys, so I am visiting relatives in Shanghai right now. Apparently facebook is blocked here, so my question is, are VPNs the only way to access it here? Are there any alternative options that don't require money? I don't have access to a credit card here, so I can't use the VPNs, which all cost money for subscriptions.

Edit: My bad, that's the street, I'm somewhere close to..Minhan district o-o; (So bad at this, it's only been a month since I've been in Shanghai for my internship)
Never mind, we're like 20 miles away from each other

lol I recently had the same encounter when I went to visit China just a few weeks ago.

Facebook and Youtube are both blocked in China; why even bother going on when you can do it when you get back to your home country?
Enjoy your time with your relatives son!
Haha, I'm Shanghai too.
I believe VPNs are the only way to bypass the Firewall.
Btw, FB is blocked because of China's censorship relating to anything democratic.
Ohaithar. Where are you? I'm in puxii right now. Wanna meet up?

Not fluently, I know enough to get me by. I can't hold any sort of conversation or the like though
Thats true. Drunken Shrimp. Sounds too damn good to be true. Aside from making me hungry, you could always spend quality time with your relatives. Unless they are aged, then that's a problem. TV sounds like a viable option as well. Just try out other sites and see what you get lucky with :s
I'm trying snake tomorrow and yep, they're like 75+, my cousin, aunt and uncle are all working. I've gone through a couple lists of "Best Free VPNs" I found, and so far, zilch.
You can always explore the cuisine. That's what I'd do. Try foods I never had before, or try classics and see how they differ in taste. Like Szechuan Beef
I have/am, but there's only so much you can eat. I just had drunken shrimp last night. It was freaking delicious~

You don't need Facebook actually. It's just an extra that you want.
