Ideal NightLord Revamp

Alright so an ideal NightLord revamp would be to clean up the class and bring back the old animation of throwing stars. ie: Old TT animation.
1st job throw 2 stars
2nd job throw 4 stars
3rd job throw 6 stars
4th job throw 8 stars
Amount of stars doubled with Shadow Partner.
Bring back Avenger that homes onto enemies and instead of 1 giant star you toss 3 giant stars.
Provide higher avoidability.
Provide a percentage of gaining back HP from attacking.
An advanced dark sight skill.
Can't really think of other parts where they can improve, even though there's some. This is all theoretical no need to rage or get all worked up about it, suggestions on what would make our class better are welcomed.

@LazyLotad I get where you are coming from with the whole speed thing, i would take faster speed over a little xtra dmg, NL's are no longer the most mobile class so we need something to balance us with the rest

And for the love of god, we need better damage, we used to be looked about cause we were good! Now people are just like "You play a NL? Wow, the suck though" At least balance us out with the other classes

They should just revert flash jump back to the old version. Now it has more height and less distance, which I dislike.
DB's kept the old version of it. It's such a big difference in getting around...

@LazyLotad: We already hit speed cap of faster (2) with Claw Booster because most Claws are fast (4). There's no need for Speed Infusion. Everything else is agreed upon.

Yes, the underside of platforms or sides of the maps, we would be able to cling to. The Shadow Web addition to this idea would be pretty unique, but I wouldn't want it to be like Kaiser's or AB's grapple hook things.. Also, while we jump around with our "revamped FJ", we should be able to use QT or just throw stars in general, and while we are stuck to the platforms, we would be able to throw stars from there.

@Yanoma, @WithSummer, @vnrizfresh: They could revamp Shadow Web to have a clinging sticky effect where you could control the direction of where you'd want to throw it by using your arrow keys. Have a little Stance effect while on the web for more efficiency while bossing. NL's would be called Spiderman after that, lol.

Rasengan with 100% shadow partner damage that blinds the whole screen like the kaiser hyper doing 1200% damage hitting mobs on the map 8 times replacing sudden raid.

I would like a jump up skill, pretty much all of the new classes get it and it's very useful. NL's used to have amazing mobility with Flash jump but now are outclassed in mobility by most classes, an upward jumping skill would help that I think.

I like @Yanoma's idea about clinging to walls. Although there aren't many walls, would the sides of maps work as well?

Skills that should be changed or replaced.
1. Shuriken Burst is even worse than Avenger. Increase the number of monsters that it hits would be better.
2. Wind Talisman is a bit useless if you ask me, I never use it because it's not very efficient to rush with as it hits very little monsters.
3. Shadow Web should have been removed in big bang if you ask me. It could
4. Why do we still have taunt when shadowers don't? It doesn't work on LHC monsters or bosses and it has a slow casting rate + horrible range.
5. Sudden Raid... Slow and claw mastery doesn't get taken into account. I think my AB's large range attacks have better range than SR.

I'm liking a lot of the ideas in the thread though

I think they should revamp our uniqueness in whole, I mean flash jump used to be exclusive to hermits and now it's been given out like candy to other classes (Maybe something cool that works like a dark teleporting/ shadow sliding motion that also acts as a dodge that can be used in the air and on the ground). We should have some kind of increased avoid rate and move Shadow Shifter to third job and have an ultimate Shifter as we originally were able to avoid getting hit better than any other class or job. The Triple Avenger skill that was mentioned would be ideal for 4th job and have some kind of richochet damage if it bounces off/through multiple enemies. We should also be able to have a drain skill that works whenever we hit criticals (kind of sounds broken to some, but we really have bad survivability in crowds and shade splitter having short range). I'm sure they could toss out some of those useless skills or trade for some of these things.

I like the "ultimate avenger" idea but I'd like to replace some other skill and keep frailty curse (upgraded to affect everything)
The Dark flare buff is pretty good too. I'd rather it give HP, Stance, and ATT while inside the area on top of the reflection.

I'm glad to see so many active Nightlords speaking in this thread. Threads like these are my favourite! I love reading on people's thoughts/comments regarding NL's! I really like most of the ideas thus far! Nice thread

I think you're thinking of a shadower because night lord never had band of thieves o.o We never had a skill with ninjas that attacked in an AoE nor did we ever have an AoE skill before. Now we do of course which is Shade Split and Sudden Raid. o.o

What skill do you mean that flashed ninjas on the whole screen? It sounds like Sudden Raid but that's a really new skill. Band of Thieves was a Chief Bandit skill also?

Anyways, if I was Nexon, Drain back to Second Job and removal of Gust Charm (useful, but doesn't fit playstyle IMO.) Switch the Fire Star thingy in 2nd job with Avenger. Fourth Job: Ultimate Avenger to replace Frailty Curse. It throws an Avenger star that blows up after it goes through an enemy (as long as it detects another one) with 100% chance of activating Poison and Burn damage. Also, remove Taunt and replace it with our own version of SI (maybe Ultimate Haste [include speed and jump so we are the fastest]?) Replace Sudden Raid with the Phantom skill that jumps backwards and throws cards (Penombre or something?)

-At least [b]20%+ Evasion Rate[/b] to compliment our 45% Dodge Rate from Shadow Shifter (every other Thief has one besides NL and NW).
-[b]4th job mobbing skill[/b] (only class in the game without one) should be long ranged to compliment Shade Split's close range mobbing between 100-170 before we get our Four Seasons Hyper Skill.
-100% SP seems relatively fair now compared to back in the day, and without it, we lose out on a potential 30% damage per each clone's hits.
-Remove unnecessary skills or fix them (i.e. Shadow Web [throws 2 webs with SP now; L7 with SP is still better], Dark Flare [doesn't work when we miss or dodge with Shadow Shifter; it could also have more party effects like HP, Evasion or Dodge Rate, Stance effect], Taunt [only works on regular mobs & slow animation], Purge Area/Frailty Curse [only works on regular mobs & slow animation], Sudden Raid [doesn't take mastery into account until Hyper Skills, but becomes useless for 170+ with a 30 second cooldown once we get Four Seasons with a 8 second cooldown]).

Old TT animation: yes!
1st job: 2 star skill = yes!
2nd job: 4 star skill = Well, depends on % damage...if too high, no...I don't wanna be OP like new classes...I'd rather have a passive that boosts L7 damage + mob ability
3rd job: 6 star skill = NO! UNLESS they find a way to make it not look to messed up with SP on
4th job: 8 star skill = same as 3rd job
3 x homing avenger = YES! except for the 3x...I'd rather have a single avenger that hits thrice.
More avoid = YES!
Draining attack = yes, even more yes if it's a passive skill!
Advanced Dark Sight = I dunno how works but if it works similar to Wind Walk, then yes!

Make shadow partner do 100% damage!

Allow stars to penetrate after killing target. Let's say, I used Quad Throw on a snail with another monster behind it. If the first star hits the snail and kills it, the remaining other stars will hit the next target.

Frality Curse should work on everything!

Smokescreen!
