where im from, the DMV does 2 different routes for the drivers test. if Massachusetts is similar to this, find a friend or someone you know that knows the driving test routes and drive the routes
follow speed limits and over-exaggerate everything you do (ex. when you look at bike lane, change lanes, check intersection, etc.)
I didn't fail the first time. So here's my advises:
1. Chill out (even tho it's kind of hard, calm your nerves)
2. Greet the examiner politely (this helps you get some merit points)
3. ALWAYS remember to do the basic mirror adjust
4. Drive at a comfortable speed. Keep your eyes in front of you, don't even look at the examiner.
5. Parking is usually the hardest part, so just work on that.
From experience...
Don't turn left from the straight lane.
Don't make a 3 point turn into a 5 point turn.
Don't signal left when your instructor says to signal right.
Don't take possession of the intersection.
Don't back up while looking forward.
Use the bathroom before you begin.
I... obviously failed the first time.
check mirrors every 5 seconds
watch your speed
stay calm

don't floor it
If by this you mean your driving test, make sure you observe everywhere and make it obvious. Also, when doing reverse go walking speed.
If its a normal test, it's easy.
Make your actions (e.g. checking the rear-view mirror) obvious, so the person evaluating you can see what you're doing.
