To Kill A Mockingbird
So as an English assignment I have to create a cover design of To Kill A Mockingbird and it has to kind reflect the themes and overall message of the book.
Stuff like prejudice, violence, tolerance, poverty, racism, social inequality, and injustice.
Could anyone help me come up with some ideas of things to use for the cover design or something? o:

EDIT: An idea I had was to have one of those weight/money scales like [url=http://images.wisegeek.com/justice-scales.jpg]this[/url] with black people on one side and white people on the other and the one with the white people is weighed down more showing that they're of more "worth" in this book compared to the black community. Idk if it's good or not.

You know the part with the old lady who dies...
That was the most memorable part for me.
If it's appropriate, I'd just do an old lady sleeping on a bed.
Edit: Fair warning, I'm normally the type of student who tries to be an outlier, so this could be risky if it doesn't fit the requirements.

Seriously though, I haven't read it (I find reading 18-early 20th century literature to be boring, though that might just be how desensitized the community is right now), though based on your current list of themes you should include, I think you should take on a less literal design and go for symbolism.[/quote]
So what do you prefer to read? Which side of the 200-year block are we talking here? Shakespeare or Meyer? -_-
Edit2: Also, if you're going to go with the scales idea, please don't actually put people. >_< It'll look so cheesy.
Just have a simple scale weighted on one side, and make the background fade from white to black going left to right or something.

I remember I did something with a mockingbird, all black, with a completely red background and 2 children holding hands - one white and one black - standing on a black hill

it was written during the mid 20th century, not earlyy. 1960

I literally only read like 4 chapters of the entire book though
On the other note, I think your scale idea is a pretty nice idea I'd go for it
