October 6th Sat -- what to do?
Hey everyone!
I'd like to start by saying, no this isn't a thread for self-gratification and for praise or what not.
I took the SAT yesterday (junior now), and I wanted to estimate my score to see if I needed to cancel it as many colleges demand to see all your scores.
From your past experiences, can you perhaps help me determine where my score will fall?
Probably 10-12 Essay
-1-2 CR
-0 Math
-1-2 Writing
I'm really trying to hit 2350+, and I just wanted to ask you guys if you think this will cut it.
EDIT: the reason why I didn't post this on college confidential is because I don't have an account, and I know many of you do have exp. with the SAT
Thanks again!
I heard about that. You're in the bay area aren't you? What high school was that? Somewhere in the cupertino region probably?
lol that's me. and 2160 is meh at my school and s**t in our district
definitely over the 2250+ range XD
you did good
@AmyrIin: Anything below 800 in math is humiliation.
@AmyrIin: Lol I didn't take it. My most recent one is May and got 690 Reading, 800 Math, 720 Writing. I hate English so much.
congrats on the 800 though lol
Just saying, lots of Stuyvesant seniors took it.
I averaged out the past curves. Worst I could do is 760 760 750 if i added a few more errors here and there. Best I could do is 800 800 800. Idk bro best luck to me i guess.
How'd you do on it?
Just saying, lots of Stuyvesant seniors took it.
@AmyrIin: Yes, Prospect high school
Ah nice.
You better get 800 math or I'm disowning you.
hope so. if i do kai u need to do me some "favors"
You better get 800 math or I'm disowning you.
Go for the best. Get those scholarships. Succeed. I lucked out with a 27 on my ACT and got a $5,500 scholarship to my school. Go for the best score you can get!
The December one has the best curve since everyone is studying for finals.
Yesterday's SAT sucked because there was a freaking fire or w/e and we had to wait outside for 40 minutes. </3

Dang that makes me wanna cancel it.
I thought the Oct curve would be the best seeing as the dumber seniors who either wait until the last moment or failed before take it now.
True, but all the tryhard juniors who studied over the summer all take it as well. I remember the OCT one being historically a harder curve. My bro took the november one and got only -10 for a math question, -20 for a writing, and a -10 for a reading.
Yes it is. But to answer your question, probably low 2300s, maybe even high 2200s. If you get a 12 on the essay, and get only one wrong on each of the two you mentioned, then yeah, 2350+ is possible. I wouldn't cancel anyways. The October SAT curves are pretty brutal. I don't know why I took it this time.
