Too Many Classes
Do you think Maplestory is making too much classes? They're doing it too fast. Phantom just came out recently and now Mihile is coming out. In my opinion I liked the Original explorers ( including Pirates), KoT, and the first 2 heroes. Just saying.

Better skip Mihile and move on with the other 3..
New maps and BGM > New jobs
Imagine 3 or 4 areas that are as well designed as Temple of Time or some of the major towns like Leafre/Ludi.
Nexon does it on purpose, you're supposed to make the new OP class, rush it to 200, and pump NX into it's separate cash inventory and fund it to overkill status to solo (previously impossibru-ranked boss) in xx minutes. Then you get bored, and Nexon nerfs the previous class to hell and makes a newer/stronger/prettier/flashier class, rinse, repeat.
that's why each class has a separate cs inventory, uses a new weapon+ secondary for you to cube/scroll/ward/etc, all the good equipment requires psoks to transfer, and 90% of new content is for lower levels. my thoughts on it, anyways.
I can do without some of the new classes. I want more events like the agents event and OSSS
L>OSSS2 <3
I personally couldn't bare with playing just the original classes.
That would be a big bore. </3
I like the Heroes and other jobs because they are flashier, and more unique compared to the "fixed" Explorers.
They are just more fun, and some of them are op.
Like someone said, it is a luxury to be able to try all these classes.

Probably can't say the same on community.

You'd be lying to yourself if you haven't thought about a new job for maple. Maple would lose customers that buy nx if they lose interest in maple, therefore they have to make these new op classes only to debuff them later on -.-''
5 classes? come on.
I honestly agree on this. It was more fun when we just had the twelve types of Explorers (three types of Warriors / Magicians, two types of Archers / Thieves / Pirates).
If we still had only the originals, we would probably be seeing a massive decline in "_____ is OP" and "Which class is best?" threads.
New classes = more money for Nexon (NX for looks, cubes, equips, sok/psok, etc. for a newly created character).
This is often true for NX buyers.
Maplestory revolves around money (I mean, look at the site and you'll see all that Cash Shop content everywhere).
Edit: Sorry for double posts... o.o
Just that their content either falls into good but doesn't last forever or cost NX to get more benefits (Red Leaf High), crappy, monotonous, low level, unoriginal, filled with annoying fetch quests or will be overshadowed by maps like Aliens or LHC/Stronghold.
@crossout3 But they're not, because believe it or not, their methods are actually WORKING!. Nexon's playerbase, let's be honest, aren't all that bright and will succumb to whatever mama Nexon gives them. Give them a new class, they'll love it. Give them a +10 stat hat with it, they'll love it. Link Skill, make it a mule!
Well that may be true in the short run, I forsee that if they don't drastically change the way they're updating this game, the player base will diminish to nothing. Given the 4+ years I've been on Windia (and another year 2 years before that) the population rate has been dropping steadily, only increasing when a new class comes out. That boost is like doping, instant gratification for people to play until they realize that the content is more or less the same giving them reason to quit again.
This sort of "doping" would apparently give Nexon a feeling of good business, but really is just a delusion to the truth that they're going down hill. (And I'd rather they not as I enjoy the game.)

We can't have a thread without this troll around, can't we?
New classes are basically what keep bringing my back to this game. I really thoroughly enjoyed Phantom and I plan on taking mine to 200. I'd say its pretty successful in my terms.
And lets face it; new stuff would be popular for 2 days and then it kinda dies. Just look at Azwan right now.
Well how I take it is that classes are vehicles for people to enjoy the content of the games. Just like a restaurant, you don't go there for all the new forks spoons or cups they have, but for their food. In the same way, classes are supposed to be a vehicle through which players can experience and enjoy the world that Maplestory is supposed to be.
But I do see what you mean in that content may be lacking, and that is the exact thing I'm complaining about Nexon, in that instead of focusing on newer classes, but to come out with more engaging and meaningful content.

My main is actually an Aran but it won't show on Basil

I feel like the game should just slow down on characters and expand the actual game itself.
New environments, pq's, training zones... Just overall content instead of classes.
less classes, more content
Exactly! Nexon doesn't seem to understand what makes a game. They believe that by adding more classes (fluff), that they'll be able to attract people to play their game and stay, unfortunately it doesn't really work out that way. If they had more engaging content, no matter how infrequently they come out with new classes they'll have a more stable player base.
Maple will stop making classes when they finally make the maple hero class <3 <3
Liked originals. Main is a DB. Whut?
Nexon should add more World Tour areas... (I want to upgrade my crusader codex)
New classes are a luxury.
You don't have to play them; and it's not like Nexon isn't adding more content.
but dude nexon will make more money if they release a new class and i kinda like it or sometimes not
Its really interesting with relations with Heroes Novas and maple allience
The more the better, it sucked back then when 40% was dexless sins, 40% was Dks, 15% priest and 5% ALL OTHER CLASSES. More the better i say
to many jobs we need more classes >.> there is a major difference
class is pirate thief warrior archer mage
jobs are everything under those........
^I'm just giving out my opinion
if your " Just Sayin"
you didnt have to make a thread aout it </3
