Because evo rings allow you to go dex/strless, which will be more beneficial later on. He can always spend them on evo rings now and %luk later, or he can waste lots of nx later on trying to get rid of the high dex/str. Also why not get a dkhanjar? It's a nice boost since 44atk ones are only 2b. (44atk is equal to perfect scrolled (Gm'ed) daggers which costs a lot more)
