let's do some math. assume the item is already at legendary crap potential. i don't know jack about legendary potentials but let's assume it can be % stat, % all stat, damage to bosses, ignore defense, hp/mp recovery, maxhp/mp, avoid, accuracy, wep/magic def. so a % in the stat you want is 1/15. if you repeatedly cubed an item for until it got 12% dex, 9% dex, and 9% dex (assuming that only the first line is allowed to be at the most possible % for the tier. strangely i never seen an epic item with a 6% stat on the second line), that would be (1/15)^3 = 1/3375. so on average, 3375 (super?) cubes for 30% dex. or 6.4m nx.

i don't know about potential locks but my guess is that when cubing an item you can consume potential locks to preserve a desirable line. so you would keep cubing until you got 12% or 9% dex and start potential locking until another 12% or 9% shows up. from that point you would use 2 locks for each cube until you finally get the 3rd % stat. each stat would be 1/15 chance, so 15 cubes for the first line. then 15 cubes + 15 potential locks for the second line. and 15 cubes + 30 potential locks for the last line. seems like nexon knew how much cubing the potential locks would save so they made each lock ridiculously expensive compared to cubes: 10k nx or something. still the overall cost (45 cubes, 45 locks) of 535k nx is way cheaper than 6.4m. still hundreds of dollars that any reasonable person wouldn't blow on pixels.

Are we disregarding that emblems can get weapon potentials? We all yell that it is worth a lot but wouldn't the best scenario be bossing damage / pdr? Correct me if I'm wrong though, not sure myself.

Getting 30% is extremely hard to get. I occasional see 30% items in the FM and they always go for 10bil+ and since AB are hot right now you probably have yourself a 15bil+ item.

If you cube a legendary item enough, you get 18 to 30 percent more often if more cubes are used. Its like cubing a weapon, if you want 30 you have to spend hundreds of dollars extra just like a weapon made that uses all three lines over just 60 percent boss.

@CaptCandy: they're that expensive, because you need three specific lines to get it, contrary to 27% which would require most combinations of 5 specific lines and such.

it's extremely hard to make, and the only reason why most stuff on GS with great potential sell so cheaply (yes, cheaply) is because of duping remaining.

that's why all these new items with great pots sell for that much

On average it would take about $300-500 worth of cubes to get 30% of a single stat on something.
On average. I'm not accounting for the crazy luck, but on average it is about $300-500 worth. You got extremely lucky.

I think it's relatively easy to get a good pot on emblems, compared to other equips. Still, 30% stat is great.

man. i feel so unlucky. i spent 22 super miracle cubes today and couldn't get past epic or 3% of my required stat (dex)

Very rare, but its really about luck, some people get it within 30~50cubes, some spend over 200. Good luck
