I haven't been on my luminous for a while but I know for sure that if you are in eclipse, then dark skills use 0 mp, if you use light skills while on Sunfire, you can heal 1% hp. I've been focusing on Equilibrium on my luminous which is OPed and awesome.
Ok guys, if you choose light you will get a light skill for 1st job main attack and a passive called light magic enchancement that adds 5% extra dmg to light skills If you choose dark you will get a dark main attacking skill and a passive that adds 5% extra dmg to dark skills

Not true, Dark Skills cost 0mp while you're in eclipse mode, and Light Skills grant +1% HP from damage while in sunfire mode. The difference between light and dark (other than storyline) is that the first job attack is different and Light side gets +5% bonus damage from Light skills, while Dark side has +5% damage from Dark skills
They're equally as beneficial. instead of benefits, here's the difference between dark/light.
-Both have different questlines -Light side gives 5% damage boost to light skills -Dark side gives 5% damage boost to dark skills => since you'll be using both sides as equally, damage output will be same either or

i believe i read somewhere that dark side trains a bit faster early on but after 70+ it doesnt matter
