Nexon forgot one small factor about the mechanic equips
It's impossible to make a pure gold engine. It's impossible to make anything out of PURE gold. All of the jewelery we buy are alloys, and even if they were to somehow manufacture an engine out of pure gold, it would be incredibly weak, and will not add anything near to 5 attack, or 5 strength. Good job, Nexon, should of made something like a titanium engine.

We have all these weapons such as swords, why not just use those to cut our hairs...and somehow we can magically go to the barber and get more hair then we had again...MS doesnt co-exist in the real world...its more of an alternate universe

dude, you can't compare physic laws of a game and real life. They are both different world. Compare this to parallel universe. We don't know how it works.

OT: I don't think it really matters if it's correct or not; MS just likes to make things sound better.
I think the point he's trying to make (or maybe what I would say) is that even though Maplestory IS a fictional/fantasy type of game, using magic to shoot beams from the sky or to ride dragons and jaguars and all that stuff, is "possible" with "magic". But gold isn't a strong substance for it to be the final mechanic equip. Or maybe the "pure gold" is like... magical. O_o
But anyways, since gold is perceived as something amazing and the "best find", and how it's always used in jewelery, it makes sense to the people that don't understand gold isn't that good(majority of MS).
But on the other hand....
