The Ultimate BB Training Guide for ALL Levels!

Hey, everyone!

I keep seeing threads on asking where to train and I want to help...
I keep seeing threads on being KSed in the same handfull of training maps and I wonder why...

So, in order to help everyone out, I'm writing this very small, very simple guide to training. It works for all levels and should allieviate many of the headaches you get while training. You shouldn't really need to read this handy guide more than once or twice to figure it all out, which is an added bonus - you won't have to check this guide over and over when you get to a new level range!

Now, before you ask, no: I am not going to list of training locations. You'd think that, with this being a "training guide", it would tell you what maps you should train at. Nope... not this time. Sounds strange? Well, if you keep reading, you'll understand why quickly enough.

[header]Step 1: Forget What You Know...[/header]
This essentially means to take all of the previous guides you've used to train up to this point and either use them for counter-reference or outright chuck them out the window and forget them. The reason you want to do this is a simple one - STOP FOLLOWING THE HERD! Most of the time, the "reccomended" maps in various training guides are viewed as the "only" training maps. Some of these guides are even done with little decent research of their own. There are instances in where the guide's reccomendation, believe it or not, is actually not the "best" place. I personally know a training map for 14x warriors that is superior in almost every way to the "reccomended" location.

The major problem with going to the "reccomended" guide location is that everyone goes there - KSing is rampant in these areas, which, of course, slows training massively and causes a TON of undue stress. Even if a "reccomended" training area gives a little more exp/hr, it's almost always in "best case scenario", not when you're fighting some jerk to keep your map. Another, less crowded location with slightly lower exp/hr in this situation will be, ironicly, faster training instead of slower.

If you're going to use a guide for your class, use it as a "where NOT to go", or only use it to reference good Mini-Dungeons or PQs, which shouldn't be nearly as bad.

[header]The World Map and You[/header]
One of the best additions to Big Bang in regards to training is the World Map. Now, when you access the world map, you can highlight any location on it with your mouse. When you do, all of the NPCs, mini-dungeons and monsters that appear in that map are listed for you, including the levels for those monsters. This is, without a doubt, one of the best resources for training in the game. You'll be able to find all the maps available for training in the world through a few clicks and never without having to minimize the game window!

Most monsters of the same level range have been balanced, so they have near-identical HP/EXP ratios. This means that virtually, every monster within a certain level range is a viable training location. The differences in HP and EXP are not nearly as wide as they used to be... so the variety of training locations are much larger than before.

Remember that, although most monsters in the world have been moved around so most monsters of a same level range are close-by in the world, there are some clusters spread out to various areas. Places like Ludibrium and Edelstein have monsters varying from 1st or 2nd job all the way to 4th. You may have to do a little searching across the map, but it tends to pay off... especially when you find a monster not mentioned in the guides.

[header]Do Some Research![/header]
Another great tool for training is right here on Basilmarket... and no, it's not a guide...
It's the Monster database located here

This handy database shows all the monsters by level range and also shows their exp, hp and other various stats. If you want to do a quick reference on monsters in one level range, this is another great way. This is especially useful for characters with element-specific attacks, as the database can also show elemental weaknesses and resistances.

Well, that's it. Short guide, huh? I hope it helps you all in finding a solid training map with little stress and competition as posisble.

As always, good luck and happy hunting!
1. People go to "non-recommended" training spots.
2. "Non-recommended" training spots get filled up.
3. KSing occurs in "non-recommended" training spots making them even more....crappy?
4. Now what? o.o
Honestly? It still won't happen.

Many people, despite all of this, will still tend to look for guides and go to those spots instead of trying to branch out on their own. Human nature shows that people are commonly lazy and selfish and would rather get something for nothing than lift a finger for themselves.

Even with this info, people will still tend to flock to the "popular" maps. Even if more people begin to do their own research, there are commonly enough maps to train for practicly any level range that rampant KSing in non-"popular" maps will not be an issue.

As for going to a location and considering things such as spawn, the "reccomended" guides again don't often research this and instead often just suggest to go to the "popular" maps. Case in point, as I said before, at my level, the general reccomendation is to go to the Temple of Time until Lionheart Castle comes out. I found that, though okay, the spawn seems lower than it used to be. I decided to look around for monsters within my level range and found another location (to which I intend to keep to myself). The enemy gives slightly less exp, but dies in the same amount of hits as Memory Monks, but the spawn density is higher and the map itself is smaller as well. I gain much more exp there... and not one guide out there mentions it.

This is a very nice guide. The map highlighting is useful, no more looking it up at hiddenstreet lol. Maybe u should emphasize, since most monsters have simmilar exp/hp ratio, that the map layout and teleports (or lack therof) is also critical to figure out where to train. Speed of killing monsters, the amount of mobs, and mobility is emphasized in big bang training, especially noticeable in revamped areas like ludi, nath, etc.
