Is Skyrim That good?

So Ive never played any Elder Scrolls game but my friends recommend me buying this game so Ive read/watched the reviews by some game companies (i.e. Machinima, DTOID and some other peeps) and they usually rate it pretty high. I quite like RPGs but I want to know if its as good as people say. Also I was told it was like Runescape but better? Is this true cause Runescape doesnt exactly entertain me

It's pretty good, but for a new player of a Elder Scrolls game (like me) make sure you don't set the difficulty too high your first time. My friend created my first save file on master level and I had no idea until 4-6 hours of gameplay so I got so frustrated doing the main quest line. My advice start off one above novice or novice

He who compares this game to Runescape is a blasphemous fool.

It was amazing at first, but I got bored of killing Giants and Dragons after awhile and I don't like to do quests
Also anyone have any tips on tanking peeps when using a great sword? @_@
I don't know how to tank, but you should bring a ranged companion (casters and archers) if you're going melee and the companions wont get in your way.

I bought the game today and I am impressed with the graphics and detail. It scared the s**t outta me when I was doing the golden claw quest and that gate closed shut, I was playing in the dark and as soon as that happened my door opened and I literally fell outta my chair xD. So far Im loving the game, great detail in the quests and I like how you can change what kinda weapons and stuff you use. Definitely worth the buy. Also anyone have any tips on tanking peeps when using a great sword? @_@

Skyrim certainly lived up to it's hype, it is an awesome sandbox game that has enormous amount of content and depth, and many things to do. Gameplay is pretty interesting and addicting, and theres just so much to do and explore that the game practically never ends. Story is alright, you make lots of decisions, and the game is at least over 300 hours long. If you get it, just know it will probably last you a very, very long time.

I only like the hard work the artist and programmers made to make that game.

no its not as great as ppl rave. Its definitely over hyped, usually by the elderscroll fan boys and / bandwagoners. If you've played fallout 3, you know its just a midevil version. The perks are "nearly" all the same with enhanced melee.

Game play is probably its best feature, it is fun killing npcs using whatever method you want, lots of freedom--customization would be the 2nd biggest thing, do what you want, build your character how u want and still be good. Nice quests, graphics etc. Its not some new never before seen system like some people think.

Story line lacks when compared to games like mass effect or dragon age.

Its a good game no doubt, but DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY DEFINITELY not "THE BEST GAME" EVER like ppl say it is.

Max out the graphics, yo.
That's a $500 card, use it as such.
Damn the heat, buy better heat sinks/fans/liquid cooling.
^_^ I play Skyrim on Ultra High settings.
I have a cooler on but I don't think it does much good.
Its amazing. Runescape can't even help describe it. LOL. Runescape is boring and hard to look at.
Its an open world game with amazing graphics, AI's, and story lines.
You can do literally 100 hours worth of quests and not beat the game yet, and every step is entertaining. Each side quest is pretty detailed and can effect another story line. The only thing this game has issues with is the town citizens xD. "I too was once an adventurer like you, until i took an arrow to the knee". "A man might become nervous, when a man approaches with his weapons drawn". Those lines you will hear so many times in town its ridiculous... That is the ONLY thing with this game that i don't like. But the fights, the skills, the monsters, the stories, the dungeons, the overall graphics. ITS AMAZING.

Just get it lol.
You could probably mod both of those PC version ;p

The leveling system will initially look like runescape's with all the skills like smithing, one handed mastery etc. etc. But it's nothing like it. This is definitely a game I would recommend. It has a very nice story, gameplay mechanics are great, and you will get sucked into it, the atmosphere is also great. Also the options are endless, how you want to play the game is entirely up to you.
