Buccs are so much fun, the only real down side is mobility and some attacks are pretty slow >.<
Bucc blast hits half a map and does great damage without too much funding! <3 too bad its slow...

I'll say the same thing I always say when someone asks if it's worth it, "try it out yourself so that you can tell me." The only thing you really lose by making one is a character slot, and maybe a couple of weekends at the most, but I'd hate to make a decision for someone else based on what I think.

Personally, I love my Bucc. It was the first character I've gotten to 4th job, and the first I've hit the level cap with. It's a satisfying class to me, perhaps because I've played and understood it much longer than any other character I've ever made, and it intrigues me because it's one of the few classes that encourages me to be a bit more creative in my approach to optimize my tactics in the absence of a double-jump skill and the fact that our main mobbing skill takes a moderate amount of time to cast. I cannot tell you how 1st-3rd fare at this point, as I have never experienced them post-mutiny, but there is a sort of odd, intrinsic sense of satisfaction when you destroy a group of monsters for the first time as a Bucc. If you choose not to try it out, that's fine, but I'd recommend a try to anyone willing to give it a shot.

It's pretty nice for seeing big numbers. I'm completely unfunded, all I have is the tempest gear, none of it's scrolled and i'm hitting 100k per line of bucc blast at level 120. Which is probably pretty low compared to if you're funded.

The biggest problem i have is lack of mobility and lack of a decent 1v1 skill until 3rd/4th job.

With 2 2% STR,I deal around 20k damage with both corkscrew and spiral assault...at level 60.
From what I've seen,it's preeeety good.
So yeah, funded buccaneer are awesome, non funded are still awesome.
You kids have no mind of your own. If you like that class then keep playing as it and lvl it up. Every class has a lame 2nd job, and it will be boring till you hit lv60. So suck it up bro and just lvl it, if you don't like lv100 or the job then get rid of it. Not like it takes a month to hit 100 anyway.
Totally agreed. I mean seriously, I know of people who played Buccaneers before they were revamped on a regular basis because they enjoyed them, even if they were the weakest damage dealers at one point. Level one hundred is seriously pathetically easy to get to at this point, since the game is filled with easy ways to level, even if you're short on time; factor in how Marauders excel at flat maps or maps with long platforms, and there's a plethora of maps you can potentially use to level, even if they aren't a 'mainstream' map.

Just try it out; if you don't like it, delete it or keep it as a mule for a Character Card deck or something. Damage is mostly based on funds for most classes, so it's not like you'll deal amazing damage with a certain class, barring a few exceptions; funds are what matters for damage, and really, it only matters if you actually have the means to boss consistently, which I sincerely doubt you do. By bossing I, of course, mean the higher end bosses, which are generally reserved for the highly funded; most classes can end up soloing stuff like Zakum relatively easily once you get your core skills maxed, so there's no real need for damage at that point, unless you want a very quick kill time.

Combat Step Jumping is actually surprisingly mobile if you can time it right, and it can go almost as fast as Flash Jump if you utilize as many nearby ledges as possible. Takes a lot of practice to get used to, though. XD

But you get a free mount at 4th job! B4 the revamp we were REALLY slow, but we have decent ability, and 2 rush skills! <3

good damage without a lot of funding and very fun

^^ she makes a good point. We are the only class w/o a decent mobility skill. So if your used to getting around using any form of flash jump, glide or w/e, you would get very bored.
