Is this disrespectful?

My mom got mad at me for not working on a project and instead doing stuff on a computer, so she took my wireless adapter (or whatever it's called) away. She told me to go get it and give it to her, so I unplugged it and tossed it to her. It's about the size of your palm. She didn't try to catch it and it hit the ground next to her. According to her what I did was extremely disrespectful, and I got yelled at some more for "throwing it at her". She then told my dad about it, and he gave me the "don't do this talk".
Personally I don't think what I did was bad at all.

Edit: Let me add, she was in my room and pretty close to me. Not within arms length, but close enough that if I took a step or two i would have been close enough to hand it to her. I just meant to give her the adapter.

I should note what I threw was just this
Lol. You might toss things with your dad all the time, but when your parent is MAD and asks for something he/she needs to confiscate, one of the worst things you can do is toss it...that's really disrespectful.
its faster then handing it to them

You should've just gave it to her instead of throwing it.

Not really. Me and my father toss things to each other all the time.
It isn't that hard to grab something, walk for like 5 seconds, stick out your hand and give whatever is in your hand to your parent(s). Yeesh that's laziness to an extreme, not to mention quite disrespectful.
I know I should have just handed it to her but I don't think it's something to get mad over.

@RugbyBall Lol maybe it is laziness, but I don't get how it's disrespectful. I mean your simply giving your mom what she asked. I mean it's not like he threw it at her meaning to intentionally hurt her..

Lol no. She asked for it and you tossed it to her thinking she'd catch it. It's not your fault she thought you were throwing it at her.

Maybe you didn't mean for it to be that way but it was disrespectful, yes.

It's not like I threw it at her. I just tossed it to her. I thought she would catch it.
