@AllDayErryDay: And to everyone else saying we don't already have an aggro system:
Empress Cygnus is the most prominent example. Ever hear stories of spamming DR when there are multiple attackers? "It's impossible to time it"?
The cooldown for damage reflect is wiped when aggro changes. Keeping the aggro on one person gives the expected result - 80 seconds minimum between casts.
People with aggro don't take more damage or anything fancy like that. Maplestory has never been that type of game, and it never will be.
If you want bosses with strategy, you'll have better luck with WoW.
Imagine if they bosses focused on the weakest link xD
Bosses already have aggro, Emperess Cygnus Turns the most aggro'd into a bomb, where as Von leon like teleports away from you or something idk.
So they try to add strategy to the game by making it even easier...WUT?
What exactly does that mean? I know it is related to aggressiveness, but "target the player with the highest aggro"? o.o
I guess retaliate greater to stronger foes.
Doesn't VL already have aggro, sort of?
EDIT: Ninja'd
I wouldn't mind tanking empress it'd be great if this were the case... imagine how easy it would be to sell boss leech runs
Ill watch empress leech you, and gene you all the way accross the map.
I think the monster just focuses on whoever is doing the highest damage.
bosses getting smarter and focusing down high damage dealing players. better call in a few tactical forecasters for this latest batch of missions.
then again, it might be better if you aren't the prime target of boss dmg.
Bosses already have aggro. They're just adding a new GUI to show you who has aggro.
So how does aggro work in Maplestory? Do people who are targeted take more damage than the rest or are they actually isolated?
So, would 1/1 and totems from zakum only hit the selected person?
Bosses already have aggro. They're just adding a new GUI to show you who has aggro.
example:
Empress Cygnus has declared "xxxxxxxx" as the most threatening enemy. (paraphrase)
So, would 1/1 and totems from zakum only hit the selected person?
The boss focuses(deals more damage) on the person doing the most damage on it.
does this mean that people can adjust the boss's difficulty? what is Aggro? o.o
Aggro in most games means that the boss focuses on attacking one player (a player that usually has the ability to draw attention from the boss).
I don't understand how this would work in Maplestory though...
This is good news I think. People who can take the hits, aka Paladins/Demon Slayers/DB, can get the bosses aggro and divert the attacks towards themselves to help out the parties if needed.
I hope this means that pallies can actually tank for once :I
I think aggro means that the player dealing the most damage? or dealing damage most frequently, the bosses will focus the attacks on that person? i could be dead wrong.. so dont quote me on this
Yes they say that bosses will have aggro in the tempest patch highlights.
Does anyone know how it will work in Maplestory? I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of Aggro applying to Maplestory..
Yes they say that bosses will have aggro in the tempest patch highlights.
