Definitely this. Although I use Norton 360 + Malwarebytes + MSE, I still don't, and wont ever feel safe.
Well, as safe as it's possible to be with good, conscientious, pro-active attention to detail.

It's not like Chinese Intelligence Agents are likely to be implanting any mythical undetectable malware on your computer, unless you're doing something a lot more risky than playing MapleStory.

When you say you cleaned it out do you mean you took it apart..? That's really the only way to be sure of getting all the dust out of the heatsinks and vents, but it's usually not a good idea to do it yourself unless you're really, really careful about getting it all back together correctly.

There could be a problem with the CPU and heatsink mounting that's causing it to not cool properly, or it could need to have the "thermal transfer medium" ("thermal grease&quot reapplied. That would usually have to be done in a repair shop though.

If you can raise it up by putting something under it that won't block most of the bottom and any of the air vents it might help keep it cooler until you can get it serviced.
bad idea is bad.
my pc was acting up, so i installed norton for a malwarebyte scan(fully payed for), used it, and it found nothing.
my friend then recommended the malwarebytes scanner, used it, and found 3 trojans. norton not only bugs u up, but it's useless too.
Norton is an Anti-Virus. Malwarebytes is an Anti-Spyware. Two different things. Each one is optimized to find different things.

The trojans Malwarebytes found are not viruses, so you can't expect an anti-virus scanner to find them reliably.

That's why you need BOTH an Anti-virus program AND an Anti-spyware program. Use Norton AND Malwarebytes and you're fully protected.
Yes you can have malware downloaded to your computer without clicking on anything just by visiting a web site (it's called a "driveby download&quot, but it's not likely to happen.

IF your McAfee subscription is still valid (if you've paid for it), then McAfee should be able to protect you.

To be absolutely certain, download "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" scanner and install it, then UPDATE it, then have it run a complete scan of your hard drive. It's optimized to find spyware like keyloggers. I use it, and most people in the computer tech section recommend it.

Google the name "Malwarebytes" for the download site.
