Should this help me cut some lbs?

Hey guys, well here its summer and we all wanna look good for summer... right?
So I was thinking of starting a new little routine,
Wake up in the morning, have a nice bowl of Weet-Bix (Healthy cereal for all you americans)
Take a jog for 25 - 30 mins,
come home, have a swim and then take a shower then go on with my day.
Now I know you all arn't health pros, but should this work over the time of a month or so?
By look good, I mean cut some lbs from my body.
Also, do you reccomend anything else?

There was a very good guide written about this here on Basil, let me see if i can find it. it pretty much answers all your questions. Btw, make sure you eat healthy thoroughout the day as well.

Edit: @above contrary to belief, you shouldn't cut carbs, the GOOD, COMPLEX carbs anyways. Cut the refined white bread and ,sugary carbs, they stick like fat in your body. Go for wholesome nutrtitonal ones like bananas, whole grain bread, brown rice if you can (my parents never buy brown rice, so i have to limit my intake of white rice). Complex carbs should be the staple of your diet, 70-60% of any thing you eat should come from those carbs. And about protein, make sure it's like 25-30%. Protein is overrated, you actually don't need that much.

Ya unless you completely starve yourself lol. But thats not really losing weight the healthy way and you cant maintain something like that. Be prepared to not see results very fast but if you lose even 3-5 pounds in a month that will be incredible. This might also take more than just 30 mins of jogging a day. But it seems you swim also which is amazing cardio so it might actually work out good.
