It is 100% free to play, even for evans and DBs, base skills are given, higher levels require NX. (Skill books become released later on)
none the less, i have 10k nx rdy for battle mage.

But you could think of it this way; say, and Evan's magic guard.

A level 20 vs a level 5 Magic Guard is very noticeable, right? Think about this, what if the player with level 20 Magic Guard had horrible defence set-ups and good (if not perfect) attack abilities. Though, if the player with level 5 Magic Guard had good (if not perfect) defence equipment that could overrule the level 20 Magic Guard, and horrible attack abilities, the person with level 5 Magic Guard could easily [i]benefit[/i] over the person with level 20 Magic Guard.

Although, the person with level 20 Magic Guard could easily out-damage the person with level 5 Magic Guard and horrible attack abilities. It's all theoretical, but since you can't prove Nexon's statement beyond a reasonable doubt (say, my theoretical example up there), they didn't technically lie.

how are they greedy if they took away the 1 thing that makes money for them?

I will say they are 100% free, why? before evans and DBs where released all the information about NX skills were out, you could also check on hidden street and see that the skills that needs more mastery(nx) says mastery 5?(what you can have whiout nx) and also says mastery 20 which is what you get from using the books, there is no info about that anywhere so +1 to they are free, another reason is that GMS is doing what KMS did they made evans and DBs nx users but wild hunters where free which is another reason for them to be free here, and normally on the webpage they say extra package get ur books blah blah instead of using 6000nx now u can use 5800! what a deal! (we all know how nexon is so) check the FAQ on facebook to see what have been awsered but for the moment they seem 100% free to me sadly if they are not i will spend on WH cus i really liked those, but nor at battlemages or mechanics
