Any tips for MapleStory Youtube Videos?

I want to start uploading my very own videos but I really need tips on how to not be... boring? Certain ways I should play, explain things, use a mic? What should I record with?

I won't post my youtube channel because I'm not here to advertise, it's unfair in my opinion. I was just thinking about how I would make the intros to my videos cool as well. Add music in the background. I know I need editing software but idk where to get that or how to use it for that matter.

So this goes out to any pro youtubers like Kewra. His videos are cool Thanks guys If you don't want to comment the tips you can just PM like some good websites or editing softwares. If you want to put your maple youtubes I will sub~
@natty2: That doesn't sound really cool, cutting in and out of the two musics is weird. If anything I wouldn't dare stop fighting in the middle of my video, maybe toward the end I would calm it down when I am talking or giving a summary. My biggest segment will be making an entirely new character and leveling him up per episode, kind of like an adventure type thing. It'll be nice in my opinion. Most likely I'll be doing that during RED.
The part where I was talking about cutting the recording I was reffering to Bandicam.
You can only record 10 minutes. so, after 9 minutes or so, tap quickly on the same button to stop the recording and start a new recording at the same time.
When you put the two videos together you don't even notice the moment it's switched to a different video.

@greatbolshy: a dxtory just checked it out, seems like plenty of features and I heard fraps was really bad. and I never know how big my videos will be. So it's between dxtory and bandicam for now, I can get both of them for free, my friend usually knows how to do this stuff

For thumbnails that's a big pet peeve of mine, they have to be perfect. I myself do not click on a video if it has a blurry, ugly and random thumbnail. Maybe like a trademark sign? Or Something that pops out.

For my mic I have a logitech desktop mic, I'm using audiacity as of now to play around with it, it works pretty well in my opinion. For videos most likely dxtory or bandicam like I mentioned, and for the editing I'll be using windows movie maker for my first few videos keeping it simple and as I progress I'll get into bigger program, In all honesty my friend can torrent all the programs here right now but I rather get dxtory or bandicam torrented. Bandicam so there isn't that watermark and longer recordings(incase) or dxtory. He can torrent sony vegas as well probably.

That's basically my plan, ofcourse it'll be rocky at first but then get better.

oh 1 thing i somehow completely forgot. thumbnails. thumbnails are key if you want views on your video. detailed, good looking thumbnails are the reason people click the video most of the time. photoshop is good for thumbnails. you'll definitely need to look into using them

for video:
bandicam is best if you don't want to pay, it's easy to use, records 10 min videos and compresses the files. good quality but there's a watermark at the top
fraps is a good paid one that you can use, i'm sure you can find a torrent. the files are massive. i record in 60 FPS and a 30 minute clip is around 75-100gb of space
dxtory seems to be the favorite for recording. it's a pretty good blend of everything but again, costs money.

for audio:
you won't be as successful if you don't use a mic. people want to listen to what you have to say about things, not watch you run around the fm while listening to music. don't get me wrong, music is fine to use once in awhile if you're doing something like a montage, but don't use it every video. make sure the music is copyright free and you give credit to the artist if you ever want partnered, they'll make you delete the video otherwise before they sign you.

in terms of mics, please don't use a laptop mic. those are horrible. noone wants to hear the terrible quality and they'll likely just dislike your video and leave. you could use a headset mic, you can find some decent but not great ones for $30-$40. i used to use a headset but it just wasn't all that so i decided to get a blue snowball which is a fantastic mic and you get can them from $40-$60. another good mic would be the blue yeti, it's a upgrade of the snowball but about double the price. if you want to get really professional, get a pop filter to put infront of the mic. it does make a difference if you want the best quality.

audacity is a audio software that can improve quality of your voice. i personally barely use it but i'd recommend it. play around with the voice equalizer a bit and test out some other settings and it'll remove some of the background noises and make your voice sound much better.

for editing:
the easiest one to get ahold of is windows movie maker. extremely simple but also extremely low in detail. you can get 1080p videos and throw clips together and such, but it's nothing i'd recommend after uploading a couple videos to get started.
camtasia is a really good one and you get a month trial version, i'm pretty sure you can keep signing up for the trial under different emails, and it comes with a recorder. much more detail than windows movie maker
sony vegas is extremely expensive but like before, you can download a torrent for it. the quality is great and you can do the voice overs extremely easy with it. great quality video after rendering

for intro/outro
cinema 4d/after effects. both very complicated and takes alot of skill to "master." both cost money so torrenting is key, again.

also remember that live commentary is great for videos, too. don't always just throw clips in and talk over them.
sorry for the book but it's worth reading if you want to start youtube

@poolpoollll: May you elaborate? So people watching me merch? What I mean by that is, people watch me buy stuff in the FM and resell it or tips and guides?, I am pretty good at farming and guides. That's just my opinion I might suck. On my old youtube account I posted one video and it was that gaga glitch awhile back where you could keep getting nx and get your charm up. That got a good 3,000 views. To may 1000+ views is perfect, but of course you'll later want more once you get a good taste of it all.

@Clownified: Also, there's a tip someone gave me, but I don't listen to it~
It should be obvious, in commentaries, and in regular videos where you're not fighting, you need to put some calm music, but that much you should know.
As for the rest, they told me it - too has to be calm, and not loud, but I don't listen to that advise, But I thought you maybe should hear it, too.

@natty2: That's awesome thanks, Windows movie maker sounds fine I guess. Audocity I'll definitely use, and I have full version of fraps, a friend gave it to me for free. It's really good for gaming in my opinion. Thanks I really appreciate the help. For music I won't be putting that, I'll put simple music.

Tools you need:
1) Recording program. If you don't have any patience to set up one, you can just download Bandicam. 10 minutes each recording (you can also put the record / stop recording on the same button, then tap it twice, and there you go, you stopped recording and started a new one at the same time)..

2) Audocity. Free audio editing software, really easy to control. It also has a function for recording from a mic, so if you don't have one (or don't have a built one in your cam or w/e) you should get one.

3) Video Editing program. Here, you can do perfectly fine with just windows movie maker, or live movie maker. There are other good programs, like (if you have money) - Sony Vegas, or, CyberLink PowerDirector (This one is my favorite).

As for music, you can find a good channel that uploads music regularly.
Important: DON'T put:
1) Metal
2) Anime opening themes
3) Known anime themes, like DBZ or Naruto.
4) Linkin Park. PLEASE. don't.

Videos should be about what YOU prefer, of course. Fun stuff, about bossing, commentary, training, class playstyle, and whatnot.
