LOL I'm Nigerian and my mom was contemplating to not call herself Nigerian anymore because of the bad rep they've developed from having access to the internet. That country is so bad right now.
I got scammed once. I was on my Fighter, and these people wanted to see my "5 best items" in ArPQ. I dropped 2 sets of level 55 earrings, a Devil's Sunrise, a Blue Screamer, and a Red Whip. I looted all of them, then they were like, "Wait, I didn't see! Do it again!" So I did, then they booted me after I dropped my 4th. So fortunately, I salvaged my Screamer. o_o
I don't know if its really common but, it's an fm scam.
Someone comes into your store and offers on something. You end thinking its a reasonable price. You drop store and trade the person who was offering you. The out of no where, ninjas and other merchants pounce on your spot and take it. I lost a door spot like this ><.
If you cant thing out a solution to this, here is one!
Don't drop your store. If it is someone ACTUALLY offering on something, jot down their name on a piece of paper and tell them that you will get to them later.
An alternative way to prevent this is be mean. (I'm not saying go ahead and accuse them of scamming or cuss them out)
Think of a way to tell them go make some more money so you can afford the item you put up as listed or something. (Get creative!)
i got scammed lol, it was the one with the steelys and the 11,111,111 and then he cancels and puts 1,111,111 later.. i felt so stupid, that was along time ago though
Aww man, I got scammed but it was like... a mixture of scams all put together, even though I had already read this guide:
I was buying a zhelm for 50mil, a dude trades me, he looks trustworthy - has his own zhelm obviously high lvl, and says
"I'll trade you my old zhlem"
"mmk, stats?"
etc.etc.
then he says he needs to sok it, I ask if he has sok, but he says I've been scammed 3 times now because I soked this zhelm and the people didn't trade me afterwards. he says he has sok, so it's all good. then the deal is that I pay half now, he'll sok and retrade me afterwards. (I can obviously see that this is possibly a scam, but when you're about to get your first zhelm after a looong time, you ignore your conscience)
"Okay... but don't scam me, alright? I'm trusting you."
"Yeah it's all good"
~puts in 24,999,999~
~the other dude continues to talk casually~
~I click trade~
"lol, i lied"

I ran into a scam a year ago. Its pretty much trading your item for nx. After hours of spamming S>(insert item here)@@@... Someone finally trades you. They offer a good price but then "realise" that they don't have enough money. They offer to gift you something and you obviously accept. They run off with your iten, never to be seen again. I didn't accually fall for this because they're usually low lvls who aren't wearing any nx
"The Retrade I'm lagging" may be mistaken sometimes lol. Once, in the fm, i was so laggy, I dced out cept I was selling the item. I just hope the other person didnt' think I scammed.
ergg.. this brings me back memories....i got scammed many times....once, i got scammed on the "item substitution" thing. Lost cfa 30% (worth about 30mil) like a year ago, and some other stuff thinking it was an 8att wg but ended up being a dex wg. 0_0 hope he becomes a future prisoner.
