mrchicken42: y no buster?
It is in the current build. It is not maxed first because it is not as good as fury. Look back 4-5 posts to see a breakdown of why. soulbladerz: I don't get it. y not max ER since it's good for bossing?
The number of elemental attacks by bosses (and mobs in general) is extremely limited (er only counts for elemental attacks). The difference between 11 and 20 in these scenarios is almost non-existant, 2k becomes either 1k (max) or 1360 (11) not a big difference. Also, there is an alternate build that does max ER and leave buster at 11. It is after the first build for dks. I'm missing the part that needs to be fixed on that. 2 points into Beholder to max it out, then 1 point into Dark Impale makes 3 points for the level. Remember that Dark Impale already has 1 point into it at 120. Floxytek:
Oh, and very useful and informational guide. Thanks. Thanks! djp2313: I'm missing the part that needs to be fixed on that. 2 points into Beholder to max it out, then 1 point into Dark Impale makes 3 points for the level. Remember that Dark Impale already has 1 point into it at 120.
Whoops, I completely forgot about having added 1 SP already to DI. soulbladerz: The guide for fourth job, sps are added to DI so does it means that for now, we add them to achilles?
In order to have this problem (achilles still around) you are in a non-gms version (ems?). If so follow the guide provided here It has not yet been updated to include DI, so it should work out well for you. You will (should) get a skill reset and a free 100% mastery book that makes a skill lvl 30 once you get the patch that includes DI so don't worry about adding points into achilles in preparation.
Just like to point out a small error that's been bugging me;
I believe that in your third job builds, you mention Dragon Strength but you kept Dragon Blood even though it was replaced by Dragon Strength. Same goes to in the explanation in the same build; Dragon Strength, though the animation is more or less the same, no longer gives w.atk, instead giving a blob of str. But if that was intentional then um, sorry .-.
ArthurSam: once you're in 4th job, 1 DI > max Fury and Buster.
If you're already 4th job, you may as well leave Buster at 11 and max ER. Fury has the advantage of being slightly faster and having a tiny bit of extra range (compared to DI), so it'd still have some uses. ArthurSam: for a 3rd job dk, what you think is the best build now? 20 buster 11 er, or 20 er and 11 buster, since fury is a better attack and buster will be completely replaced?
20 buster and 11 ER Basically you don't need buster in today's maple so might as well get something semi-worthwhile instead of something that won't be used at all. As long as you have no sentimental value attached to buster then getting ER should be the move. I should change which build is listed first now that 20 buster and 11 ER is becoming more accepted. Plusle4eva Thanks, didn't really touch 3rd job much since it didn't change much the last time I did a revision. I will get that corrected. Register / login

As I'm typing this I'm thinking it's less likely I'll put it in as an alternative. The main reason it's been left out is because of how much people enjoy buster though, not really because buster has any sort of redeeming factor. The sheer uselessness of ER is keeping buster off the chopping block.
People are saying that ER is useful in PvP, against pages, mages or any elemental users (corsairs?). Moreover, it might find a place against cygnus knights, whose attacks are elemental based. I'm thinking I might test this out in pvp when it comes out. It may find a niche in areas such as these. So much to consider about... I'll have a lot to do after my exams
