You know the phases a maplestory quitter goes through? Basically it's... Go into the game > Enjoy > Get bored/Something happens > Blame Nexon/Community > Quit > Not play for a while > Begin to miss the game > Try to hold it > Give up > Relog > Repeat process. Somewhat, that's the idea.

I basically left, or let's say; stopped binding myself to the game, because it lacks human common sense. Let's think; You complain about, for example, how expensive are games today, and such, and so you play a free to play MMORPG, but this MMORPG has a shop with ridiculous prices, in which you spend 50$ monthly... May not be the case for some, but that's the only explanation why there are so many merchs, overpricing... You know what I mean. How does that kind of behavior make sense?

Meh, I guess it's Nexon's part of fault; Constantly developing endless equip upgrades. Not going to rage on them; Their job is to make money, and well... Many players are that stupid to give them constantly what they want, over such a tiny thing. It's incredible how this 'tiny thing' that is raising the character as much as posible has become a main thing, and thus, taking part of the game's fun. Online games must update? Yes, indeed, but not to the extent of making weapons have; Scrolls, Potentials, Enhancements, Nebulites, and the soon to come; Boss Souls. I don't know about you, but I kind of think that's surpassing the line. Most games limit the weapon raising to simple enhancements up to some point, and they lived ever happily after.

Let's see... This doesn't go for the people who didn't pay anything or didn't get their things gifted; You may probably have worked your way up there, and that's good. It's boring for me, though, I'm afraid, but yeah; You spend 200$, maybe more; You get your equips, weapons, accesories, up to the limit. Alright, you're powerful, brag about that all you want; At the cost of what, your life savings? Your mom's credit card? It does get noticed at the time of spending money, lads. And then, Nexon will release some NEW weapons or equips, that are better than you equips when they were clean; Spend another 200$ and repeat. You may have wasted 600$ in 7 months of updates. Unless you really don't mind spending your money with that, anything to say? Yeah, well, may not be my bussiness, but hey, is it prohibited to expose very probable come outs to make you rethink?

I know the game is good. Yeeeeeeah, it's good. But think; with 100 or 200$ that you spend here monthly, you could probably save a lot of families in third world countries. Let's be honest there; Nobody here is going to send that ammount on their help, though. But that money goes into... Codes, information, and set up of your character. And it never seems enough.

Rage on me if you want, but I just wanted to share the though, and receive the feedbacks. Trolling is also accepted, for it shows undeveloped you may be; If you're gonna troll, do it the clever way

@mrkungpow: I wanted to try out the different classes, that doesn't mean I really like them (maybe just Phantom, XD)

Players like you should reproduce.
But yeah, when you want to boss for the fun factor, with the people... Even your own guild; Let's say it isn't as epic as you may have thought... Damage wh0ring and such. Again, I do think that spending real money in order to get every new update's content it's... Stupid, to be honest. I'd play more if my RL friends were as interested as they were some years ago, for the social factor, BUT... You know, they left because MapleStory got that 'needs moar money' feeling.

In fact, the other day, I logged in to check the Dimension thing, wondering how it may be. Said hi to an almost-afk guild, and when I said hi on alliance, nobody turned over and said hello, but didn't mind it. Went to do some Dimension, checked how it was... And well, saw a low of people dropping thing at the entrance, spamming and such, like the old and jolly FM... And well, logged off. May just be that I'm bored of the game's constant desire for powerful players, not giving a chance to evolve by killing monsters... Just tricking in terms of trade (Which is what 'merching' really is on it's core) or buying meso. I personally prefer to play for the fun factor, not to sit endless days in front of some doors and posts expecting to gain some more meso. Know what I mean?

I prefer the stories they had for each continent, the Black Mage would be like the end of the game, after he is defeated what...?

Well, try earning your way up next time? :S.

I've personally never spent a dime on this game, so naturally my damage isn't very high or whatever compared to other people who have spent money. With that being said, if you truly enjoy the game and your class style, upgrading really shouldn't bother you. And when the time comes that you can afford an upgrade, I'd say it's a lot more rewarding knowing that you've singlehandedly earned enough money to do so.

TL;DR

Once upon a time there was a magical fairy. A little boy wished to her that mr.b would take away "post too short". It never happened and the boy died of cancer.
