Sure, it boots faster and is more efficient, but that doesn't mean anything if none of your software works with it. I know how to work with w8's interface. I hate it's interface, I think it's not intuitive in the least, but I can use it. It might be better later on though, and if that's the case I may switch back over, but until then I'm gonna stick with 7. It's reliable, simple, but most importantly THINGS WORK WITH IT.
I don't know what programs you use that don't work on windows 8, but all my programs and games work perfectly fine on it. If you hate the metro interface, you could simply just download a 3rd party start menu and disable charms. Since windows 8 boots directly to the desktop now, it'll feel exactly like windows 7, only without the ugly aero theme.

All computers from WindowsXP and later can run maplestory. Not being able to play maplestory on Windows8 Asus Laptop is just bogus.

it's a miracle your comp will even turn on. I suggest getting an actual functioning OS. W7 is pretty good.
>bashing windows 8 when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about

Windows 8 is a better OS than Windows 7. It boots faster and is more efficient and faster than Windows 7. This translates to better battery life and performance in games and apps. Most people hating on Windows 8 are really hating on the metro interface, which takes less than 15 minutes to get used to. Plus with the recent 8.1 update, windows boots directly to the desktop, meaning metro is a lot less intrusive and annoying than before.

OT: if you're screen stays stuck on the loading page and doesn't progress any further than that, your computer probably can't run maple.

I have a Windows 8 Samsung laptop. I click the game launcher by going through files, not the website (it doesn't really matter) but I have to play in windowed mode, otherwise the frames go black every other second. Same with skyrim. Plays well while windowed, but full screen doesn't.
How to do window 7 then on window 8 laptop?
Do the following.
1) Right Click Gamelaucher.exe, then choose the properties option
2) Click compatibility tab (on the top)
3) Click "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
4) Choose "Windows 7" from the drop down menu.
5) Then click "Apply" followed "Ok"
Then try to run Maplestory using Gamelauncher.
