Video editing softwares

Does anyone know of any video editing softwares they use?

Also, is bandicam decent for beginners? I could possibly switch to fraps but I dunno.

I kind want to use windows movie maker but is there anything better?

If you were wondering I do not own a Mac, so I have no access to their programs.

I would appreciate any feedback.

^ Yeah, After Effects is wonderful if you want to make animations at the same time with video editing.

I use Fraps for recording and Sony Vegas for editing.

It's an earlier version of a commercial video editor the manufacturer makes available for free (hoping of course that you'll upgrade to the paid current version).
It has a lot more features and functionality than Windows Movie Maker, but isn't as complex as the "top of the line" commercial video editing software, so it's good to learn on.
There are also a lot of videos on YouTube showing how to use its features, just search Youtube for "VideoPad".

One tip: When you download and install VideoPad, say "NO" when it asks you if you want to try versions of their other products.
They're all 30-day limited trial versions and make the download huge.
I heard it's lighter than WMM as well (WMM tends to instantly crash my computer).

That's the nice thing about VideoPad... no keygens, no torrents, no trojans, no viruses, no epileptic seizures.

Be sure to use the link i posted, unless you want to buy the current version.
The links on the Video Pad site are for the current paid version, the above link is for an older free version.
I'm not sure honestly. Like I want to learn the basic fundamentals of transitioning, cutting, speeding/slowing it down, adding music, making the picture clear, and just all that kind of stuff. The more I use it the more I'll progress.
EDIT: A friend says movieplus from serif is also good. There's a free version here: http://www.serif.com/FreeDownloads/
