Mobility Skills for Defensive Purposes

So I'm trying to make a survivability chart, and that made me realize mobility can save your butt.

So I think we should first compare all job's main transportation skill along with other mobility skills such as Rush, or Backstep. Then you got blink, Portal: GX-9, things..

I am not sure what kind of mobility all jobs have, so it is best that we can describe how we move when we dodge a boss, or for map control.

Like I use a BaM, so as far as mobility goes it's pretty good to the point where people think I'm hacking.

Unlike other mage's teleport, BaMs can teleport in midair, and they can set their teleport destination in the air as well, so yes I can teleport from the air to the air while I'm falling down but only once. The only other mobility skill BaMs have is Battle Burst, which is like a rush skill, you push enemies and you move along with them. Nice to have since sometimes teleport has some kind of delay. So with tele I have good fixed control of my movement, but nothing to fling myself off like FJ.

BaM's telecast kind of reminds me of old Shad's Assaulter but faster, unless you want to telecast vertically, then it's like.. a special shad. That's just how BaMs do when bossing.

Okay, now you say things, because I don't know what other moves you guys have. Like I know NL has Shadow Web and it makes them have an extra vertical jump. And TB's have ascension+thunder, which I would say its better than DB's FATSUS/FABUS.. FABULOUS combo in mobility.

Or you know you can look at videos, but I think it's better to talk about it so we know what skills we have that are causing us to move like that, and what purpose do they serve if the video wasn't clear enough.

Cannoneers have Cannon Jump, Monkey Push, and Backstep, and depending on how/when/what direction you use them you can get some very different movement patterns.

Double jump + hookshot + covering fire, i've used them all during bosses.

Just from my experience with archers:

explorer archers have hookshot, which comes quite handy in boss fights. When using hookshot, you can release another skill (attack) right before you end up on the boss' other side. you're invincible during these 1-2 seconds, so if you're skilled enough you can keep on doing that w/o getting harmed.

Wind archers have Wind Walk, which works EXACTLY like teleport, but has a bit further distance.

If I remember correctly, Wild Hunters don't have a really good dodging move, but I haven't played mine recently enough to say that with confident.

About mercs, I'm not a combo pro, but I know they have Lightning Edge, which drives you the boss' other side while hitting some damage (not a great one tho).

@beefly: I mean nothing's quite as good at flying across the map as Blaster but I'd say Cannoneer is a good 2nd

@piana: Yeah moving short distances quickly is gonna help you a lot when hmag is at the opposite side of the map.
Don't act as if it's never useful.
