I guess they had to add a little spice by having a gun man enter and kill/wound at least 70 people.
@Fade2BlacK: Think about the realism. The blast radius was 6 miles so if he was to eject outside of the radius, Robin would have been able to see him from his standpoint.

And when did it say he jumped out? O_O

but that robin part pissed me off because it was so cliche imo.
They didn't say he jumped out but it's obvious, it works and there's really no other way of surviving. Also I looked at the after the credits but there was nothing just "The Dark Knight Rises"

I don't exactly see how it's a trash movie. Sure it probably didn't live up to the expectations that it's predecessor brought, but that doesn't mean it's a horrible movie.

@Fade2BlacK: Yeah me too. And maybe they had an extra after the credits. I would know though.. I basically stormed out after I found out his name was Robin.

Batman most likely ejected himself way before Blake saw the Bat. I'll have to look at the ending again.
but he was in the plane....
Yes, but it's implied he ejected himself over the land before the Bat traveled over the waters.

SPOILERS
----------------------------------------------

I just saw the move and stop exaggerating. First of all it's not the worst movie ever, it was not bad I liked it and I'm not really into that super hero kind of stuff my friend asked me to go so I'm not trying to be biased. Second of all did you not listen to what they were saying? The vehicle had auto pilot and it was moving straight ahead meaning Batman could have jumped off before the bomb went down. Third of all why couldn't Alfred see him again, what's the problem? Fourth of all the Robin part was just weird but don't get pissed off about it, that was like what? 5 seconds of the movie, don't judge the entire story on just that one part. Third of all, calm down you're making yourself.

Edit: did you not read that he said he jumped out? He was in the plane but jumped so he could escape.

@ Autopilot working + The Bat flew at a low altitude when carrying the bomb.
It's implied that Batman jumped out of the Bat before detonation.
This allowed people to believe that Batman died while Bruce Wayne is able to live with a fresh start with Catwoman.
