Stab and Slash
To the point. I'm not sure if it's still the same thing as before on terms of stab and slash damage.
From what I remember, for example, slashing with a pole arm does extra damage rather than stabbing with a pole arm. And with a spear, stabbing does extra damage
rather than slashing.
Even if it doesn't still exist, the older players who played longer would know what I'm talking about.

@Worthygunna: you maxed both masteries, and any skill not called final attack.
in second job, you'd use a polearm due to the 3:2 slash stab ratio, and you should be mobbing, which meant using slash blast.
final attack was actually detrimental when using slash blast, so not having it is actually better for damage
then at third job, you max power crash for debuffing, spear crusher, polearm fury, dragon roar, sacrifice (or 3 points into it) and rest into polearm fury/dragon blood, depending on how back in time you want to go.
lower third job was mostly mobbing, for which you used fury, later fourth job was mostly small groups of mobs, for which you used crusher. or bossing, for which you also used crusher.
FA didn't trigger with either, so it doesn't matter in 3rd job.
They changed it in Big Bang

you wrote "hybrid" wrong
2:3 ratio of stab to slash
polearms did more with slashing and spears did more with stabbing.
That was removed with Big Bang, doesn't matter.
@shaheem: The slash-stab ratio applied to everything. That's why Spear DKs were superior to Polearm DKs because Crusher (is that the name? I never remember their name, whichever stabs 3 times) stabbed and Buster slashed.

Resurrection = Can't cast on yourself
Soul Stone = It's only a buff, I'll let you live long enough for it to cancel, even if it means torturing you.
OT : I actually forgot about that, the damage is so much more different then it used to be...I wouldn't even notice it anyways o.o

The mechanic was removed a while ago. With Big Bang or before, I believe. Now, there is no difference in damage.
