Maplestory.exe not showing up Task Manager
I have Windows XP , 32 bit computer.
I just finished redownloading maplestory because of some problems. I deleted and uninstalled all the files related to nexon in my computer, and downloaded maplestory from the site. I patched maplestory to the correct version because the site still has v.124 download, and then I ran maplestory.
After I ran maplestory first and nothing hpapened, I check the task manager, and maplestory.exe wasn't there. I ran it again and I saw that maplestory.exe shows up, gets more and more CPU, and after 3-4 sec it has 49 CPU then it is gone. I tryed running as manager, opening Firewall, nothing helps.
Anyone experienced that problem and knows what to do?

Someone on the maplestory forums posted a solution for people with bitdefender that worked for me. I'll just copy/paste what he says to do after installing v125.
Hope it helps some of you.
Step 2:
You have to excludes the following from scanning by your antivirus(depends on where you set the MeplStory installation folder):
- c: Program Filesmaplestorygamelauncher.exe
- c: Program Filesmaplestorymaplestory.exe
- c: Program Filesmaplestorypatcher.exe
- c: Program Filesmaplestorysetup.exe
- c: Program Filesmaplestoryhshieldhslogmgr.exe
- c: Program Filesmaplestoryhshieldhsupdate.exe
I've also excludes the folder that MapleStory was installed on from scanning. (not sure if this option is on other Antivirus program, but you may omit it)
Step 3:
I've also added rules in the Bitdefender's firewall to allow the following to executes:
- HSUpdate.exe
- GameLauncher.exe
- MapleStory.exe
- Patcher.exe
- Setup.exe
Final Step:
Restart computer, start MapleStory through GameLauncher and cross your fingers!
and voila! I launched through GameLauncher, clicked "Play" and I saw HackShield and BlackCiper updating their thing and MapleStory pop up greeting me with the "Loading" screen, soon after I was presented with the log in page

I guess people with other antiviruses can try the same thing and see if it works.

I have the same problem. No solutions so far, even after redownloading and rebooting.
