Just go for it. A hug is nothing to be really embarrassed of. It's just a hug afterall. It's not like you're asking her out or kissing her.

Dude just do it, She will accept it, i guarantee that. No girl would ever reject a hug when they're leaving to somewhere. She might reject you if you're downright hideous.
