help me with my chemistry

if you have hydronium ion and acetate ions in a solution, will a proton transfer reaction occur to create acetic acid and water?

the original reaction was between Mercury (II) Acetate and hydrochloric acid in an aqueous solution.

i know mercury chloride will precipitate out, but will acetic acid be made?

thanks in advance...

Hg2(C2H3O2)2 + HCL -> HC2H3O2 + Hg2Cl2 -> C2H3O2- + H+ + Hg2Cl2
Why wouldn't it?
Edit: Uh, not sure if this is what you mean but acetic acid has a low dissociation value so it's going to stay mostly acetic acid with some hydrogen/hydronium ions mixed in.
