@drager260: I think I might do that since I'm getting a new build.

Or is that just a Canadian website..
It's a US company that does have a site for Canada.

If there is a microcenter around you then I would recommend going there. Ive been there a few times and its pretty awesome, they have everything you need. Also theyve been running a promotion where if you buy an i5 2500k, you get 50$ off of most lga 1155 motherboards. So along with the cheap price of the 2500k, you are also getting a cheap mobo. They do price matches for newegg and tigerdirect themselves so usually its the cheapest price youll find.

Lately I've been working on building my own computer and I suggest you visit Mircocenter. My uncle goes there every now again to buy parts and stuff. I went with him and the have a vast supply of computer parts.

I've never really seen much of their customer service though, but my uncle really likes.
@qwan456: is Microcenter the cheapest place to get my gear?
I can't say for sure considering how I never shopped there. I just know that they often have some good in-store deals for processor that I wish I could get (I don't have a MC near me).

You also need to factor in other variables such as tax and shipping as well that can affect the outcome of the price. What you can do rather than limit yourself from one store is browse the catalogs of what other retailer has to offer such as Newegg, NCIX, Frys, TigerDirect, Amazon, Buy.com, ZipZoomFly, and various of others.
i7 as the same price as an i5? Where the hell do you get your parts?
Well, if you have a Microcenter near you, you could get it for cheaper. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354587
Of course, you could get the i5-2500k for cheaper as well. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354589
Was I speaking to you about the 1000 dollar computer?
Technically, you were, as you was commenting on the build that he suggested and claiming his recommendations to be "rip-offs".
I was trying to help him and say that he can get a better deal
Making a claim with nothing to back it up isn't exactly helpful for the TS. If you believe that what your dad got is better, then post the computer.
and I'd rather have an i7 than i5 for the same price.
I would too, but an i7 will cost more than an i5, and you knew that when you stated "spend a few dollars more and get a decent i7". Also, you have been continuously been stating the the processor. Do you even know the other components of his system?

@Glatorian321: You're not allowed to recommend other users to pirate on BasilMarket. i7 is useless compared to i5's unless you are doing video rendering or the like, for gaming there is no difference.

I don't give a rat's ass about your dad's $1000 computer that has better specs, I can get a free computer that's got better specs than your dad's one but it doesn't mean that every said BasilMarket user can. Only post statements that are actually useful please.
Lol buying windows. Also, that processor isn't the best, spend a few dollars more and get a decent i7. My dad's 1000 dollar computer has better specs than that, those are all rip offs...
Yes, buying Windows for an soon to be build computer. So what?

Unless he is doing something that will benefit from from 8 threads, the i5-2500k is a better value.

Instead of making comment that is useless for the TS, why not post the specification of your dad's computer?

I wouldnt immediately take the word of a random post, and while Cyberpower is endorsed even by AAFES, they still have their older track record of using refurbished/reconditioned parts, and they have notoriously bad customer service.

Not much of a concern. I plan on playing things like skyrim SWTOR tribes ascend bf3 cod and other modern games. I would like to run them on medium - high settings
