Middleman Scams Again?

OK. So, in Scania ch 1, there seems to be an increasingly large amount of middleman scammers out there. For those of you who don't know, middleman scamming is where one person will sell an item for a certain price that is higher than the average price you can get the item. Another person (probably his/her friend) will stand at the opposite side of the free market map, saying that he will buy for higher than the price that the other guy is selling for. Unknowing maplers, thinking they can get free, easy profit, will purchase the item at a high price from person 1 and try to sell to person 2 only to find that person 2 refuses to buy the item or person 2 has simply dissappeared.

This was a classic scam from a while ago, and I'm not exactly sure why it's rising up again, but people who frequent ch 1 FM entrance in Scania, there are a few people doing this. I advise you proceed with caution. Yesterday, they were doing this with Versal Materials. Today, they were doing it with Xerxes chairs. Party one peeps!

I think TS's idea is in more along the lines of bait-and-switch fraud. Not exactly like real world bait-and-switch but I can't think of the right term to describe it..

There seems to be a bit of confusion about what a "middleman" scam is. Here is the definition of "middleman."
The term "middleman" is often taken into different contexts, and essentially boils down to a deliverer of some sort of information or parcel of sorts. Person 1 is selling item X, person 2 is buying item X. According to that definition, really, the person who is "scammed" is the middleman.

Middleman scam is when you trust someone that the other person trusts too. Both side give their item to the Middleman and he is suppose to hold the items to verify the items are legit(items can be nx codes in this case). Then hand them legitly to the players to receive what they are suppose to get if the deal is legit. Except in a middleman scam, the middle man scams the players.
Title says middleman scams.
There is nothing in the entire thread about a middleman.
Not a middleman scam.
Think outside of the box.
