Do all monsters DIE or just get DEFEATED
This is what I always wondered. Some of the monsters in this game just look innocent and it's sad to think we actually kill them. Thousands of them, millions of them, BILLIONS of them! There's even human enemies in this game, are we killing them? Or are we just defeating them? Sometimes I just think "gosh maple is such a messed up game, so many lives lost".

Some monsters do look like they're just "defeated", but a lot of the animals are KILLED and SKINNED. I find it very sad.
Monsters die,
Bosses are defeated.
I'ma go towards them dieing, they drop a part of their bodies lol, skulls. ._.
How else would the maplers in heaven train if the monsters didnt die?
they have freaking babies and when they die their babies be born, grow up quickly, take their parents powers, then go out into the world only to die again lol
Don't they respawn?

what about the mesos we loose from that stupid tax in trade, when its over 1mil....where does that go...?

When they die they get a message saying "Please click okay to be sent to the nearest dungeon."
Instead of the "Please click okay to be sent to the nearest town.
They turn into unicorns and quickly prance away before anyone can witness them.
Doesn't sudowoodoo (in pokemon) and zakum seem the same? They both are rock-trees.

That... is a very good point. Even if you don't kill them, I guess most of them must still die of blood loss...
Actually, just thought of another point. When you kill a human based monster, do they turn into a zombie/rotting skeleton?
WHen you kill black crow you chop off his thing and loot it... Why his thing, why there?

This raises an interesting point.
There should be a class that lets you level without actually killing anything.
They always re-spawn.
So you keep defeating them.
In one of the Edelstein quests, you need to get Racoon (or w/e the monster was) hearts, fresh.

We have the original JMS versions now. The kid-friendly CMS versions are gone.
They get defeated and give you exp so you stop bashing on them.

Drakes give you their skulls when you 'beat them'.
I somehow don't think they tear out their own skull and run away before they get attacked more.
They seem to die. I guess I don't really know, though.
Don't feel bad about killing the cute ones; they are still evil at heart! They're actually tearing up cities and junk, lol.... according to what some NPCs say, anyway.
