So your computer is using no color profile? o_O
Maybe that's why your monitor is dim or something.

Try this:
In the Color Management setting > Click Add > select sRGB color space profile

Just wondering, what colour profile is your computer using?
Right click > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Colour Management

If I were to go deep into this problem, this is my theory:
Our computers use different colour profiles, and thus we see colours differently.

@IcED: Eh, maybe because my Dad prefers a very low light setting.. I have to keep raising it when editing something with black or any kind of dark color.

Its only blue, orange and olive yellow.

He's only super nice to his favourites.

I know I'm never going to be one of his favourites, because I made a thread protesting the unfair avatar rules long ago. It was very clear on pointing out how unfair the avatar rules are. However, the thread suddenly disappeared without notice, and I'm sure he disliked me, and still does so now.
