Learning to Dance

Hello my dear basilites, your buddy, the ZombieOverlord here. As none of you know, I've been thinking about learning to dance, not for anyone mind you, just for something new to learn. It was always on the back of my bucket list, and thanks to the enormous amount of free time I have thanks to having no social life, it's time I should learn. An addition to working out so to speak.

What do you recommend I try learning? Where might be a good place to learn?
Thanks for the help!...or comments, or whatever it is you do.

I'm mainly a bboy but I can also do hip hop choreography, as long as it is hard hitting.

Bboying is something that can't be done by everyone, or atleast, not everyone can get it with the same amount of ease and/or difficulty. I had the perfect body for bboying so I instantly learned all the basic freezes, but I have bigger friends (not fat, just taller and more muscular) that have tried and tried and still can't do the basic freezes.

Jerking, C-walking, Dougie, etc, are not to be considered dance styles. You're not a dancer if you only know how to do them. If you can pop, bboy, etc, and in corporate them into your dancing, then it can make the audience enjoy your performance even more, but if you want to be a real dancer, don't exclusively learn them.

I was at a dance this summer and someone wanted to battle me. I bboyed, tutted, etc, and to get the audience going, I hit up a dougie. You can also incorporate it like that.

I'd say bboying, but that requires so much strength and so much dedication.

Hip hop is actually interesting.

You could try a fun one called Jumpstyle, but its more Eurodance. It's really fun and easy.
I'm a bboy myself, It's really fun but everyone is different so not gonna force u to try any specific things. Just gonna mention the ones that might be interesting to you.

Breaking
Popping
Locking (Yes, contrary to popular belief, Popping and Locking are two completely different dance styles, no such thing as "Pop'n Lock&quot
Waacking (Feminine but I've seen guys do it and it is siiiiiiiick if they have the confidence and attitude)
Hip Hop (Not Choreographed stuff, like the actual oldschool hip hop 'party dancing')
Choreo (AKA 'Music Video Dancing', what is popular in media etc)
House

Those are pretty much the "Popular" dances, but there's always other stuff like Salsa, Ballroom, Jazz, 'Street Jazz', Contemporary, Tap, Etc. Always wanted to Try Jazz and Tap myself.
Popping looks pretty interesting actually.
What's the difference between it and locking though?

@Tribe: None taken, Cwalking is more of a fun hobby. I quit though because I wasn't really improving.
As a Dancer myself I reccomend you learn what interests you as long as it's a legitimate dance, eg. 'The Jerk' and 'The Dougie' are not dance styles
Haha, those are so awkward to watch.

Do you have a list of your personal favorites? I'm pretty clueless on the whole thing.
