Maplestory Pm System

Have you ever had a moment when you needed to talk to a friend and he or she wasn't online? We all have and it sucks, you may need to contact them with training times, bossing times, pq times, or maybe even your merch partner and need to discuss something. No matter what you situation is when you can't get in contact with the person you need to speak to it can be very frustrating!

Introducing the Maplestory PM System!

Yes that's right I think Maplestory should integrate a PM (private message) system into the game, sort of like a Maplestory email if you will. Some people, including myself do not like to mix up my Maplestory life with my real life meaning I don't want to Skype with my Maple friends, or add them on Facebook, so it can be hard getting in touch with people at times. I think this is a great idea and would love to see this happen.

PS:I know making this thread won't make it happen or anyone involved in the Maplestory idea/design will see this, I thought I would just share a cool idea.

I look fine in rl thanks for you concern. The only reason I only have a few friends is because I am in highschool and I hate high school drama. I want my friends to be loyal to me and honestly be my friend when I need them. Today's highschool people may be chill with you but when it counts they won't have your back. I want real friendship.

And since you could technically "add" somebody to your friends list, they must accept as well.
The note function requires NX and only worth using if the other person has it as well.

@DProdigal Well that a personally opinion. In RL I have a few close friends and other than that I like to be left alone lmfao. But in MS I am quiet well known in Mardia. MS is just a second life for me.

For the RL/Online friends not mixing,I'd have to say bull. I've made some great friends in this game over the years that I would love to meet. A couple I have met and have become great friends with. I have no problem mixing the two.
As for the PM system,it is a great idea. Like most MMOs have a "mailbox" of sorts, though those are usually only used for events,I could see it working as long as it is implemented correctly. It could turn into a problem with people just spamming like crazy, and you log on with over one hundred messages and all of them being random junk.
Can you imagine meso farmers constantly spamming you?
@marksnicks Not all people use basilmarket and I doubt people will check it daily. But if you log into MS and it says you have one unread PM your more likely to open it.

@Raist13 It to much of a hassle to make a fb, add people and then check it. If you see you have a unread message on MS in the top left corner or something you'll most likely click it.

@janny1993 I love basil and I use it to talk to a few people. But not everyone likes basil or feels the need to check it daily. While majority of Maplers log on everyday.
There is more than one Maplestory website with functions like this.
I do still agree that a Mail system should be implemented(for FREEEEEEEEEE)

Option 2, ask them to create a basil account and mail them on basil, that's what I do, lol.

Basil is Maple related forum so it doesn't affect your real life stuff.

I agree with this.
It is so easy to just send mail in SWTOR no worries or anything.
Although, thats also what sites like this is for just use its message system.

Someone said seperate fb acct for maplestory, its what I do, though I never remember to check it. Only problem with a maple pm system is -shudder- hackers would find a way to use it or get info through it or spam it etc.

Agreed meso farmers could spam your inbox. Maybe implement a friends only PM system?
Well if you click on someone on your bl it has a 'NOTE' option. I think this was meant to a PM system for Maplestory, but it just doesnt work. Ive tried to work it before. I agree, they should add this. Id love to wake up with tons of hate spam and mail(:
I would love this as well. I think the note system was suppose to be like a ghetto PM system. Like when you gift someone and you get a note saying you have earned one fame for gifting them.

@KingsGlory A cash item? OFFFFFFFFF COURRRRRRRRRRRSE, NEXONED.
I think thats why there is that "Note" button in BL. And that would explain the note box that comes up when you are expelled from a guild or lose a junior or get a wedding invite.
The note button does nothing.
"MS" life, and "RL" life, either way, its still a life, and the friends I make on MS aren't my "MS" friends, but they are my "Friends" in general.
If your MS friends are actually your friends, you would have a way to talk to them outside of Maplestory.
Your guild members, you can just leave messages through BBS.
