Thunderbreaker

Thunder Breaker and Big Bang

So, I was planning on making a Thunder Breaker, but I'm not sure if I should. I don't have any mesos so naturally I will be going unfunded.

I will be playing in Zenith, as my characters are all there, and 9/10 BoF wouldn't be bad at all. I'll be using my Priest as an HS slave to level it up fast.

Should I make a Thunder breaker? o-o or go for something else? Are Pirate equips cheap/fairly cheap in Zenith? (For those who play in Zenith)

Does anyone also have any recommended training areas? Since Thunder breakers are close range they are more prone to being KS'd
Any tips on how I can make money to fund this thunder breaker? :O
800mans has not seen the real power of a dawn warrior after BB. NOBODY can ks a dw except 130+ DB's and archmages and evans. At level 9x at gallos I ksed a 15x shadower using soul driver, soul charge, and combo attack, I hit 20k+ on every hit on SD, thats 80k at 9x and I'm not even that funding! Think of what a funded DW could do! Regardless of your class most people will not be able to ks a dw. DW's have the strongest spammable mob skill in this game and it also hits 8 monster and has decent range.
lol 1hko'd gallos with a pico pico hammer
but i normally hit around 250k on each gallos (60~65k x 4 per monster)
with soul drive.
Im fairly funded tho
@Failzombie: No energy BLAST is nerfed by 150% dmg and stuns. And yes we have less range but travel across the map with bsb which turns out more efficient than sharks. If you have good control then csb is very worth it, 1 hit gallos.

@benjaminlu: I didn't read most of that essay you just wrote, but what i said is backed up by FACT and I'm not class bashing. Stop being butthurt and go look at the skills.
As mentioned above, I said the "tone" of the extract i quoted does not exactly fit this thread.

The ultimate goal of my post was never to bash on you, or bash on anyone else, and I can positively tell you that im not butthurt at all

Also note that I said that "fun" wasn't "better damage, superior skills, power, better ksing capabilities, better dpm, etc". Besides, i even stated above my extract that it was Pre-BB, so at that time the skill %s were different, brawlers didnt have passive crit, and im not following these changes, so therefore i wasnt using those things as arguments.

Thanks for at least giving it a shot though; (I mean actually reading part of the essay)
However if you read more you could of come to a better conclusion than "This guy sure is butthurt!".

I am not bashing your opinion. I am simply stating my opinion on what is "fun" IMO and how what you find fun is not the same for everyone (obviously) and therefore you can't go around saying "brawlers are superior than tbs fun-wise. Therefore there are no positive points about tbs".

P.S - I never stated you didnt back up your post with facts either, so ...

Oh and hey look here is an extract from a post i made a while back regarding why one would like to play a CK over a regular adventurer. The tone doesnt exactly fit this thread, but it does have some points regarding why someone would want to make a CK.

Note that this is PRE-BB
"There are haters out there, who deeply hate us. "Because we cant share cash shop inventories". "Because our level cap is 120".

What the hell is that? Just because we cant share cash shop inventories, it means our class is useless and for idiots to play?
So what if our level cap is 120? Not everyone makes it to 120.
"It's super easy now to get to lv120". Yes, it might be for you, and it might be for plenty of people, but there are still some people out there who aren't so great at leveling, and easily lose focus on trying to level.

Personally i've been playing since what June/July '05 and i've always been the type of person out there that keeps changing characters and cant keep to one, often resulting in a bunch of low leveled chars (-50, occasionally around 7x).

I've had in the past:

-lv3x hunter
-lv11x TB
-lv7x Hermit
-lv3x dit
-lv4x dit
-lv4x cleric
-lv4x f/p
-lv3x i/l
-lv5x sin
-lv3x sin
-lv3x evan
-4x xbow
-7x aran
-5x slinger
-4x brawler
-4x dw
- and a bunch of others i cant seem to remember (cant fit my basilid list anymore )
Some of the above have been deleted so they no longer exist
Haven't played since dualbladers came out so when i come back and can play maple again im definitely playing it.

Point is, me and many others cant get to lv120, and dont really think leveling is all there is to maple, along with bossing everyday. (For example, i'd prefer guild events where we socialize and let's say do a jq race or run around or gather etc. items to see who get's what first, etc. over 2 boss runs a day or something. That's me though. Other people think that getting to lv200 and going on boss runs everyday is what makes maple fun, but that's them, not me. That's why i made a CK. The level cap doesnt bother me.

So my point is, people all have their own preferences. If someone (like me) thinks that the most important thing in maple is to just socialize and level up a bit, try out new things, and explore everything, then he/she might want to make a CK. They should have the right to make a CK, and i dont think they should be bashed for it for no reason."
P.S - At the whole bashing GreenKilla thing: zz.. isnt it better to stand up for eachother and defend our class together rather than bash eachother and destroy our own allies rather than our enemies? >:O

Anyway im out for a few hours im meeting some people xD

So anyone mind reminding me how this thread went from a "hey should i make a tb o.o" into "zomg dw cant ks tb tb ownage no tb fail u fail no what you talking about ur face fail tb die barrage boo ks gallos" .. ?

Anyway .. f3
"DON'T MAKE A THUNDER BREAKER

They are completely inferior to brawlers, marauders, and of course buccs. Damage wise and IMO fun wise (especially buccs).
Name one positive thing about them."
"IMO, tbs are inferior to brawlers, marauders, and buccs fun wise".

Fun is subjective, as you stated. I find TBs incredibly fun. I played my friends marauder up to lv103 (starting at lv100), made my own brawler up to lv63, and quit both because although they were fun, they weren't as fun as my TB, so i continued my tb and got it to lv120.

So, it's only a matter of opinion.

I could say the same thing about marauders.

"DONT MAKE A MARAUDER.

They are completely inferior to tbs, tbs, and tbs, fun wise (because i think Tbs are more fun compared to brawlers/marauders/buccs.)"

Except i wouldnt add the "name one thing positive about them" because you and I both know that there are countless pros and cons about each of the classes.

Instead of bashing one class, we can all just be more mature and give the TS a list of pros and cons on both jobs, and let him choose what he finds better/more fun/whatever he looks for in a class.

You might be wondering, "Gee if we should all act mature and list pros and cons of both tbs and brawlers/marauders/buccs, why dont you mr.smart guy", to which the answer is: "Sorry, I'm busy right now I don't have time".

+ the fact that i've already done this a zillion times (argue that both jobs have their own pros and cons and people shouldnt bash them just because they dont like them) to no avail.

P.S - I have no regrets getting my TB to lv120. It's short, quick, fun that lasts a while, doesn't make you have to train forever and ever to get to lv200, and you get 4th job skills (2) earlier than regular adventurers.

Hell I liked CKs so much i even made a wind archer post-bb because i thought they were incredibly fun.

I chose to be a TB in the beginning because of the following things:

1. Lightning element + brawler-light fighting style = Win (for me)
I went on a hiatus for around a year and a half. I saw that pirates came out, but they weren't enough to bring me back (at that time). However, a year later, when Cygnus knights came out, i thought "Hey they have lightning elements O_O", "Woah they seem kind of like brawlers!", and they even got some 4th job skills earlier than buccs, AND they had some of their own unique skills (Sharkwave, sparks, lightning charge, etc).

What were the cons given to me? "Lv120 cap", "Limited potential", "Lack of bossing capability".
I thought, who cares? I'm not going to get to 120 anyway (i hardly actually train, i just talk to people), i doubt i'd ever go bossing anyway (and hey look now bossing is apparantly "ruined" Post-bb), and i like the idea of getting a taste of 4th job bucc skills earlier on =D

Hell, I didn't even notice the "6 ap per level until lv70" before i created my TB, i only realized that after i started leveling and i was like "Oh hey cool 6 ap per level =D".
------------

OT: Lol finally on topic, despite all the stuff i've said ..

Personally, i wouldnt make a TB anymore. This is due to a lack of invincibility frames (as long as before)

What was fun at lv120 for my tb was that i could go into dojo for fun, go around partying with people and killing up to pap, and not dieing because of my invincibility frames. But noo, they had to remove them so that i would just constantly get hit

Also, barrage was nerfed D:

I really didnt care that brawlers got passive crit now too, good for them! It makes it more balanced, and they get to enjoy the equal amount of fun as we did when we were the ones with passive crit. Now we both have passive crit, so it's win win. It's not like we lose anything or something ..

Anyhow, on the bright side, sharkwave was buffed, sprite was buffed, transformation is awesome now (almost full time haste), and barrage does have a lot more stable damage =p

All in all, i hope i helped you with your decision in some way ^^
GL and HF with your maple adventure.

P.P.S- About the guy who i quoted (@xADAMx), to you, being superior and having more damage than another class may lead you to believe that brawlers are more fun than TBs. However, that is not the case for me, which brings me back to my thesis statement: Fun is subjective.

P.P.P.S - Hehe.. also, again, regarding @xADAMx, I have listed several things that I find are positive about TBs.
To me, it isnt all about "which class can ks which class" or "which class is more overpowered than the other" or "which class has higher dpm", etc. It's all about fun. But yes, i see how some people can find fun in doing higher damage than others and ksing others, but that's not what i find to be "fun".
That shouldn't be a problem, considering I got myself off the ground, and I'm dirt poor. Nobody cares about knuckles with Gun prices going up due to the massive amount of people ready for the release of mechanics. Knuckle scrolls are also very cheap, arguably the cheapest scroll around (ofc next to BWs and Axes). both race of Pirates share the same armor and stuff, so that may be a problem.

I will be playing in Zenith, as my characters are all there, and 9/10 BoF wouldn't be bad at all. I'll be using my Priest as an HS slave to level it up fast.

I don't play in Zenith so I have no idea o_o Though I speculate it should be cheap due to the newer server's economy. And since Resistance makes up a large portion of Zenith's population, I'd assume that Pirate stuff would be relatively inexpensive.

After level 80-90-ish, KSing is NEVER a problem, as a matter of fact, my now level 120 Thunder Breaker is my KS man Sharkwave has a massive range and deals some heavy damage, not to mention the passive crit. Transformation at maxed level has only a lasts for a certain time (forgot how long) and its cool down is only 20 seconds longer than it's duration rate, and also gives 20 ATK and max speed and jump.

If anything, people should be worried about YOU ksing others.

I'm not going to tell you to buy low, sell high, because many people, including me, just can't get the hang of it What I would do, especially in a new server, I'd pick up everything that drops from monsters, etc items, scrolls, equips, everything. NPC some of the equips, Basil some equips that look good and sell the scrolls for like ~500k more than the regular FM price. I'd also recommend doing quests that give you nice things, like the Deputy Star quest, with Bigfoot being a joke now. The GFA quest is a nice starter as well.

Buy NX and Gach if you really can't do any of the methods mentioned above. Hold some of the nice items you get from Gach , and wait for the richer people to get money to buy your items. And if you haven't noticed it already, you can't MTS

Hope I helped inspire another ThunderBreaker, a dying class.
Yet again, I hate how new gen maplers think that KSing is something to smile about.
Atleast this guy has good advice though.

thunder Breakers don't get ksed. They ks everybody at Jesters with the shark thing. But with explosion and his epic range, I can protect my map. If you don't believe they ks easily, ad wild4everz, he's pro at ksing.

Chief Bandits FTW. They can't be ksed All you need to do is hold onto assaulter and you'll attack faster than then. then FJ and go on your merry way, leaving the other jobs behind. Except DW cuz they can FLYYYY too Oh well, assaulter more
