Buccaneer

Post Justice Buccaneer Guide

Introduction--What Is a Buccaneer? A Buccaneer is a pirate that features a variety of skills and the ability to use I-Frames. I-Frames can be referred to as invincibility frames and can be activated while attacking. A Buccaneer also has the ability to charge Energy after the third job advancement. Once the energy is charged u will receive a buff that gives that gives 20 weapon attack, the ability to perform energy related attacks and the ability to charge more energy on energy based attacks thus increasing the damage. Energy based attacks are attacks that can only be used when your energy is fully charged and are usually stronger then your normal attacks. Overall a buccaneer has somewhat speed to get around, the power that is needed to kill and the skills required to mob efficiently.

3 Types Of Buccaneers

Regular- Basically you just click auto assign every time you get Ap points. Although your damage wont be as high as being low dex or dexless, your character will be easy to fund. All of your equips will go to str.

Low Dex- You cap your dex higher then 4 but lower then or exactly 50. Your damage will be relatively stronger then regular buccs but in return you will need funding. Most of your equips will go towards dex so you can equip your weapons and armor and some will go towards str.

Dexless- You cap your dex at 4. Your damage is extremely above average and you are basically $$ RICH $$ Most likely all of your equips will have some sort of dex and % str.

Then, we max critical rage for our critical hits which will generally make our critical hit rate about 50:50. Soon, we max our main mobbing move double spiral to make training easier. Furthermore we max willow defensive so training and bossing will be more efficient later on and so you wont have to burn pots. Next, we max Lucky Dice so we can get its effects which are almost like hyper body, sharp eyes, holy symbol, iron wall and rage. We soon max stun mastery as we now hit a critical most of the time. Sticky'd guide. Kay, thanks, bye. There's a clean cut difference between arrogance and being a critique. Also love how some random is telling my to get out when I've been here for quite a while now helping people alongside other regular members. So how about you just shut your mouth unless you have something accurate to say, hm?

@Tersera Unfortunately, I don't have Microsoft Word. I use Wordpad for all my writing. Manually changing it shouldn't be too difficult(Albeit a little time consuming, I guess) and it'll give me another chance to read it for other mistakes. Hurray for optimism!

If you have Microsoft Word or something you can use Ctrl+F and go to the replace tab in which you can make all Vipersititons to Crossbones and whatever else is changed.

Change one, change them all. It should help you save time and avoid missing any (assuming all your spelling were accurate the first time around).

Nonono! That's not how you introduce a class! You've gotta put more "oomph" into it! Something like...

__
What is a Buccaneer? In contrast to the agile gunslinging of their Corsair counterparts, Buccaneers are the tough, rowdy vigilantes ready to strike down all foes with fists bursting with red-hot energy, utilizing the wide arsenal of skills at their disposal.

Originally, the style of the Buccaneer revolved around three game mechanics; avoiding enemy attacks, charging and maintaining energy, and brute-force attacking while in transformed states. With the oncoming update, the first and third elements of the Buccaneer stratagems have been toned-down significantly while the focus on energy has been emphasized, especially with Energy Blast, one of the most useful mobbing skills in the Buccaneer's arsenal, being a skill completely dependent on being in an energy state.

Buccaneers, like the mightiest Pirates at sea, thrive in the midst of turbulent waves. In other words, Buccaneers shine brightest in the heart of large groups of mobs, demolishing them single-handedly while bending the spawn to their will. They live to fight and love the battlefield, whether they're pummeling foes into submission with Enraged Fists, tearing them asunder with Dragon Strike, or obliterating all obstacles in their path with Energy Blast. They may not be the most mobile or agile but, when played effectively, they're one of the most destructive forces out there.

So, what do you think? Does this class appeal to you? If so, read on to find out more about what Buccaneers bring to the table...

...or something like that lol

This guide is really not well done. Equipment guide is not that good. You must be talking about your equipment? I'd say getting the whole Empress set is a the best option. Just having the 4-set bonus or 5-set bonus gives soo much attack. Also a king cent? Like at least a Reverse equinox or something of higher level than that. Your description on what a bucc is really good tho.

@Tersera Yea, kind of glad I've taken a break recently. And that I'm not some famous level 200 Youtuber or something. I can only imagine how annoying that would get. Oh, and thanks for the clarification. Guess I just get a bit too defensive/personal(Which would explain my like... 6 or so suspensions for "flaming" ).

Also nice to see he's taken that out.
Have to say, I've gotten that before, and honestly... It's annoying.
For people who's already been there and done that, they would feel the same way. An overdose of praise does get a bit annoying since you do get some unusual questions that you'd rather not answer at times and other questions which can be found with a little bit of effort on research.
Kind of hoping I don't sound like a hypocrite.
People giving up their time to create a guide for purely helping beginners or players new to the class without the greed for recognition usually gets the job done right and they get their joy in knowing that there are people who appreciate it regardless if people stop and take the time to thank them or not.

But it looks like he's taken out that part where he claims it being better than the other, so that's a start.
Yes. What Teratology linked.

But purely judging on the statement at the end about claiming it's "better" than the other guide on basil and at the credits section saying "You may take this guide as long as you give credits me but under no circumstances may you claim this as your own guide", it's evident he's just trying to attain fame. I can somewhat understand not wanting work people have put in being claimed by others, but I mean really, should be pretty obvious which one's legit if someone takes it. But I do agree with you completely(I actually didn't notice the whole "better than the other guide" thing). I'm sure not everyone making guides(I think there's like 3 or so that have been on Basil recently, done badly at first which the community tried to "fix" ) is looking to attain fame under the guise of helping people, but it does seem that way...

Kind of hoping I don't sound like a hypocrite.
all my master levels are correct yours is not
I'd suggest getting rid of that attitude of yours and actually doing some proper research.
The title of the link you shared with us clearly says "KMST" the "T" in "KMST" means Tespia.

That means unofficial.

The official release a little longer down in December, what you linked is in november which is far outdated.

Also, since you seem to have updated your guide some more: The master level of Double Down is 5.
Here's an obvious reason why your mastery levels are wrong: You think Double Down which you named "Double Lucky Dice" requires 6 levels to max.
If you look at a Cannoneer (the other Pirate that has this skill), it's only maxed at 5. That means in the official update, both Corsairs and Buccaneers are maxing it at 5; but even if it wasn't yours only add up to 19 in the guide making it wrong anyway.

While I'm at it, the Energy Charge information where you say "gives 20 weapon attack" is also a wrong should you want to change it, not that anyone reads the introductions anyway.
Spell check your work, do not abbreviate, and for the love of God learn how to format.
Agreed.

First of all just so you know im not mad but Bullet time is Quick motion and according to the site that i showed you which is the same site you showed me it says master level 5 look

"Dash: master level has been decreased from 10 to 5, speed boost has been increased from 30% to 40%, when Screw Punch or Triple Shot is used during Dash, damage is increased by 100%, when Dashing there is a 100% chance of not being knocked back, animation was renewed"

Dash is maxed at 10 mate. Not 5. In the information I've found, unless they've changed it, it's level 10. Tersera knows her stuff, trust me. My source is this:
http://orangemushroom.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/kms-ver-1-2-148-the-beginning-of-the-counterattack/

Doesn't say that Dash was changed in max level, while it specifies that Bullet Time went from 20 to 10. I wonder why?

@PhaseOfFact I've always called it Fist of Enrage. Fist Enrage seems oddly worded and Fists of Rage seems plausible, but I've just always heard Fists of Enrage as the term used.

Helping the community is always welcome, no rush on making the guide so just take your time and polish it up^^

Just wondering, is it Fist Enrage, Fists of Rage, or Fists of Enrage? Orange Mushroom and the post-Justice skills thread on SouthPerry list it as Fist Enrage, but I see many people write it otherwise o.o

You don't get 3 SP upon advancing to a Marauder.

As for booster, you should be able to max it in second job with Tornado Upper at level 11. You must have done some miscalculations, all skills in second job at up to 130, and there are 121 SP you gain throughout the advancement.

You can get everything important maxed whilst Tornado Upper can be left at 10.

Dash is maxed at level 5? Evidently you're looking at the wrong skill updates. Dash is maxed at 10.
Credits- This is my guide to A Buccaneer Post Justice hopefully you will find it better then the other one on basil
I suggest you don't write that since it holds more than double the number of errors that the other one had but was later corrected.
Yours isn't just a matter of wrong priorities, but even the total number of SP you get are wrong at the end of each job advancement.

With the removal of Flash Fist, this allows a Pirate sindit style where you'll be advancing to a Brawler but temporarily using a gun to attack distant enemies with Double Shot and mobbing with SSK when they get close enough from jump-casting Double Shot.

Having one point on both of those can already help more than max Criticals.
Sorry for the mistakeguys i promise you it will be better. I will not be mad please criticise me in any way it will make my guide better this is not a troll Ill learn from my mistakes
That's a good attitude to have. Especially when making a guide. And Dragon Strike should be one of the LAST things you max, it certainly isn't interchangeable with Fist of Enrage OR Energy Blast.

Ok guys i kind of figured i had some few errors i will take all of your comments and thoughts into consideration and change this guide as i was trying doing all the builds just slipped my mind and i forget about Speedinfusion. The reason i actually created this guide as to help people. Sorry for the mistakeguys i promise you it will be better. I will not be mad please criticise me in any way it will make my guide better this is not a troll Ill learn from my mistakes Sorry for the confusion and as for not maxing booster i did its just that i took points away from shockwave which many people say is useless and maxed booster in 3rd job.

What personally confuses the hell out of me is how someone can say that Fist of Enrage, Energy Blast(Laser) AND Dragon Strike are interchangeable. They aren't. That's the major screw up, along with no SI... Which means I can't tell if this is a good guy trying, or a troll.

@PiplupStar: Yea that had me puzzled to, along with the non-existence of a key Bucc skill, Speed Infusion lol

@PiplupStar: I'd say max booster instead of Tornado Upper since Corkscrew is used throughout the entire Bucc career while Tornado Upper (I think) is not used often after 120.

Why not put 1 sp on dice at lv71 instead of 88? For 4th job, u should also put 1 sp in natilus at lv121 and then max double dice before anything else because it only need 5 sp to be maxed.

Agreed with above.
Basically, good intentions, but needs major revision.

...You give a bit too much priority to skills that should be maxed a bit later to make use of more beneficial ones. There are a number of things that scream out in my head (1. Booster shouldn't be held off for so long, and you NEED to max it in order to use Speed Infusion, which you didn't even add any points into!), but I guess you just rushed it like crazy, or didn't look at the pool of skills before devising a guide about them. Not to sound rude, but you should really take a little more work into your endeavor, but I guess you can do things the way that pleases you, and I'll do what pleases me. Either way, it does need quite a bit of work, but it was nice to try to make a guide. I do appreciate it, but some modifications are definitely required

In some parts, this is better than the other guide. In other parts, the other guide beats this. Both need work.
In second job, you don't even add booster until level 48. It'd be much more efficient to get level 6 booster off the bat. I'd get Physical Training maxed before Mental Clarity (1 point into it). There's a lot more that can be fixed up, but it's your guide I suppose. I didn't bother reading the builds after second job, skimmed through some other stuff.

Consider adding more training spots and fix up the equipment portion.

...

I'm not even going to bother pointing out everything that's wrong or could be improved since the other post-justice guide is better in it's current form. I seriously have no clue if you just typed this up quickly or didn't think about the builds, but you've got something wrong in every job, not to mention the equipment section is horribly outdated(Pink Adventurer Cape? Really?...).

I'm sorry, but if you're going to make a guide, put some effort into it. Just don't post something with a ton of flaws and expect people to make corrections FOR you, because I sure as hell am not.
