>.<Maple became an hackers game. They are everywhere, In free market spamming, at temple of time - mesos botters,in Leafree allover
You can't even kill the giants snails to do the quest cause every channel with it's own mesos botter hacker.
Why Nexon doesn't do anything? The hackers rules maple !.
What is your idea, why Nexon doesn't cancel all hackers accounts?
Guys it's not like Nexon can catch every hacker out there, it's like cops on the highway, they catch speeders, but they can't catch every one of them
But if you know there's a road outside of town used as a drag strip, you'd station a cop or two right there, wouldn't you think..?
The silliest thing I ever heard was when Hime asked on the Maple forum for people to help the GMs by telling them where the hackers were.
As if the "professional Game Masters" had no clue where the hackers hang out.

Well, that's what you get when you play a free game. If maple had some kind of membership, that would probably reduce the number of hackers and force maple to improve their methods since we have to pay to play. But since maple is a free game, I expect this kind of service. Like if we had to pay to play maple, then Nexon probably would try its hardest to make it worth the money we paid. So get use to this kind of stuff...

mmorpg:
Massive
Multiplayer

RPG

Game

It fits mmorpg perfectly... What drugs are you on? Stop making up definitions for phrases with definitions already.
I think the best way to get rid of hackers, especially those training at a high level, is to have a few GMs patrol
Agreed, that's the best way. Unfortunately that costs money, and Nexon isn't going to put any more money into an 8 year old game.
They had free volunteers offering to help them 24/7 even when they didn't have to pay GMs, and they didn't even utilize that very well.
The only thing they have now is the auto-ban system, which once in place doesn't cost them anything.
The few GMs that are around are far too inadequate to do anything.

And yes, Lie Detectors were removed because people just exploited them to annoy legit players.
Really the only place that I think is rampant with hackers is Kents. No one trains at Kents anymore due to the massive number of hackers. Personally, I think the best way to get rid of hackers, especially those training at a high level, is to have a few GMs patrol the Kents areas exclusively and banning hackers, discouraging others from trying those maps. Also, the shop in Aquarium still sells Lie Detectors (and Ice Cubes and Renegades Gems... o.o) so one could use that to get rid of an annoying botter.
Do lie detectors even work? I tried to use it once but it wouldn't let me use it on a Bot that was in the middle of attacking...

Nexon isn't affected by the Hackers that don't influence the economy which means, the only hackers they care about are Dupers and they have decently been doing quite a bit about dupes, for example, they patched the most common method of dupes and well almost every dupe method as well banned a lot of them. Nexon should just delete mesos and become pay to play. Every month by paying x dollars for a subscription you'd get y money in game. You want to be rich? Make multiple accounts and pay more money. Also, they should make it so you can't gift nx. No gifting nx means no selling duped equips for nx. Finally, to stick it to the man, nexon should just make any potential equip untradeable.

Why don't you just quit the game if you hate hackers so much
what nexon should do to avoid botters: during the character creation page, they should add a
"enter the characters you see" box to avoid robots from making characters and spamming the fm.
That's not a bad idea... someone also suggested not letting characters "talk" in the FM until after they hit First Job (level 30), which would at least annoy the spammers by having to level a character that high. Sure it only takes an hour or less to do, but it's more work than they have to do now, and when that character gets banned, they have to waste another hour getting the replacement high enough to spam in the FM.
Why Nexon doesn't do anything?
Nexon has apparently made the cost/benefit analysis that tells them this 8 year old game is not worth their investing any more resources into it.
That means they rely mainly on ineffective "auto-ban" systems that appear to do more to annoy and ban legitimate players than they do anything to bother hackers.

They TALK about "getting tough" on hackers, but except for a few (easy to program) messages saying "Oh Wow, a whole 7 hackers were banned!" and a "Hide and Seek" day with GMs, it's hard to see any real difference.

They just apparently won't put any real money into hiring more people to patrol the game, and also it appears they're not planning to spend any money on programmers who can combat the hacking that way either. They had an entire group of FREE labor in the form of player volunteers who could be online 24/7 finding and reporting hackers, but my guess is they reported too many hackers for the few GMs they have to be able to do anything about, so we just don't hear about them any more.

Oh, but remember... buy lots of NX..!

I lol'd. You obviously don't know what an MMORPG is.

Anyway, it's not like Nexon can just press a button and instantly ban all hacking accounts.
Actually I hack in LoL
First off, League of legends is not a mmorpg, it is a MOBA
secondly, as of right now there are no hacks that actually affect gameplay. A couple of months back, there was a hack for mastery tree, but that has been fixed. I know that there have been Ip and RP hacks, but im not sure if they still work; however, those hacks dont really affect gameplay.

So yea, maplestory IS a MMORPG.

Lol what's the problem? There have always been a lot of hackers in maple, in 2007 there where better hacks.
Like things that can get all monsters in front of you and then you could kill them with 1 attack.

The only difference is that the GMs are worser now.

MapleStory is an MMORPG, therefore there will be hackers.
Maplestory is Free-To-Play, meaning there will be even more hackers.
Nexon isn't affected by the Hackers that don't influence the economy which means, the only hackers they care about are Dupers and they have decently been doing quite a bit about dupes, for example, they patched the most common method of dupes and well almost every dupe method as well banned a lot of them.
