Questions about hackers
So, my friend unfortunately got hacked and a few things came to mind... I've been playing ms for around 5 years and have never been hacked, and they've been playing for a shorter time period than me, however they had 10b while I only have around 120m. So do hackers look for characters with the most mesos? Or the ones that put out the most damage? Also how do they find characters with a substantial amount of mesos, she never flaunted her money (wore expensive equips), is it just luck, or is there a bit more to it?

There's been plenty of bypasses made for PICs, and probably some for passwords. That's how hackers hack accounts usually, not by keylogging you.
@punx they had no way of knowing she was rich, her merchant was on a different account.

When you log out of the game, always log out in town. Don't log out at suspicious places like a cavern or dungeon.

Why would anyone hack you if you were poor.. of course they target rich people..
Luck of the draw, no hacker who is currently a free man/woman (Not in jail) has the ability to just browse Nexon's SQL database for characters with lots of monies or good items. This is all under the assumption she wasn't dumb and tried some type of 3rd party program that had some malicious code in it. Or that she didn't try any of those "OMERGERD, LOG IN AND GET NX" sites.
