Anime Recommendations Safe for a plane?
Okay, here's the thing, basil--I'm going to be going to China and back, which is quite the plane ride, so to keep myself occupied I need some anime recommendations. But these aren't just any anime, they have to be anime that is watchable on a plane. Think about what that entails--on one end of the spectrum, there can be zero fanservice, but on the other, no blood or gore, and on a still other, it can't be ridiculously over-the-top mushy (think Honey & Clover, episode 1).
So no Baka to Test, no Higurashi, no Honey and Clover. Just something that's relatively normal by American standards.
Also, while offering shows, can anyone who's watched these shows tell me if they're safe for a plane?
-Higashi no Eden
-Nodame Cantabile
-Usagi Drop (I heard this one was perfect for it)

Go for anime movies rather than the shows itself I'd say. (when I watch episodes I can't really keep up watching them cause i get too lazy to watch/skip the opening/ending theme)
I'm not too experienced with shows though... American Standard? well..
(all of them with slight blood but not gore and it depends how massively it's censored)
Naruto
One Piece
Bleach
Death Note
Detective Conan
Inu Yasha
...
Since I'm a girl I'd watch stuff like My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's moving castle etc etc.. Ghibli movies are EPIC!
Final Fantasy VII movie...
*shrug* I only get to watch stuff on TV rly so I'm not familiar with the "special" stuff
What about an entire Manga...
Also depending on your plane make sure you don't have to go online for it. Some do have Wifi but most don't and in some cases you're not allowed to use electronic devices at all.
Make sure you have an emergency plan for when you're not allowed to use that
Alright,
Any specfic genre ?
K-on, if you like daily life at school and music.
Daily life of high school boys (danshi koukousei no nichijou), I recommend highly, it made fall off my chair laughing.
Usagi Drop, Has a nice and pleasant aura.
Sket Dance,
Seitokai Yakuindomo.. oh wait... ( If you love perverted S3x jokes )
Working!
Yu Gi Oh Season 0
^ I'm not sure about the others, but Gosick has blood/gore in it, right from the first episode
edit: double-ninja'd. I was referring to ToxicEffect's post
Also, Evangelion has ecchi even in its opening, that should tell you something
I'm not sure why people recommend Boku no Pico. From what i read, it's just an hx anime, and not even a good one.
for serious answer, read Davyn's (edit: and ^ above)
Last Exile
Sky Crawlers
Planetes
Slayers
Macross
Mars Daybreak
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Gurren Lagann, Persona 4, Nichijou, Welcome to The NHK. Those are pretty good.
Zero Fanservice?
That's like so hard to find. But the only one I can think of is Usagi Drop. But it's really cutesy. However, it's really good.
I'd say Spice and Wolf, but then I forgot that the woman is like naked. However, it's not really fan service kinda thing. It's like when you look at masterpiece and it has a naked woman in it, you're not really appalled by it. (unless you are, I don't know then.)
I think Rideback is good too. I don't believe there's any fan service and it has a nice story.
Action anime? I can't really say. Almost all my anime I watch have blood and gore. Sorry!
@bloodIsShed has the right idea with Mushishi.
Related would be Kino no Tabi, Haibane Renmei, and Mononoke. The four go hand-in-hand. Possibly Bartender, though the manga is superior to the anime.
A slightly more "exciting" series would be Kaiji, and if you can handle learning to play Mahjong, Akagi. Triad does a great job explaining it along the way.
amazing pv of Chihayafuru by MAD
Mushi-shi amv
Both are masterpieces with no fan-service, and no blood/gore
Ano Hana
Ano Natsu
DBZ/GT
Persona 4
C:
Bakuman
Clannad
DBZ has no fan service (can't say the same about classic dragonball sadly)
Most other actiony anime I have seem have at least a little bit of fan service, Bleach doesn't really have any until really far into it, so if you just started that you could be all set.
Elfen Lied.
No, please don't. That was a joke.
Serious answer, there's Angel Beats!, but the fifth episode had me roaring in laughter, so you might not want that.
Bakuman, Durarara, Eden of the East, Fractale. You'll probably be sticking with that sort of slice of life stuff.
Usagi Drop's safe.
Higashi no Eden, you'll see a naked guy running around the White House, but his parts are censored out.
That's only in the first episode, I only watched like around 3 episodes.
Mushi-shi <<a masterpiece
Chihayafuru << amazing, you should try it
