Do YouTube Partner Recruiters Inbox You?

Hey Basil,

I got this private message on YouTube and this is what it says:

I am a recruiter for a network called Acifin and I think you would make a perfect add-on to the Acifin partnerships program message me back for more details.
P.S Include your skype name so we can get into contact!
Thanks
Blugaboo

I was just wondering if anyone knows if Acifin is a legit partner company, and if Acifin recruiters really inbox people. I want to make sure they're legit before I do anything. Can anyone confirm?
@JamesInNinja I'm not exactly one to talk, but getting friends to watch your videos really does help, and self promotion (don't spam but if you get a chance drop a link to your videos or channel http://youtube.com/SuberKieran like that)
I really don't want to advertise on Basil anymore. I have done it before but alot of the people on basil aren't exactly the people you'd want to be watching your videos. Alot of basilers are trolls and all they will do is "dislike" your videos. If anyone wants to find my channel its easily found by searching my Ign.

Just apply with Socialblade or TGN if you want a Partnership. Their requirements are low and they'll give you legit partnership.

It's a scam, they handle contracts etc through email and not skype usually anyways, with all the networks these days I cannot be certain, side question, how did you grow your channel to so many subs? I also have a channel, over 60 videos, and sub count is abysmal. 2ndly what kind of file sizes do you get on say a 5 minute video, I might be able to help you shrink your file sizes.

@TickleMeChad once again a little bit of research never hurts, though by searching for a company to partner you has certain perks, so does letting them come to you, when you're signing with one of these companies you're going to have to negotiate a contract and if you go to them you're (for lack of a better term) at their mercy, whereas if they come to you, you know that they want you and you can ask for more and being a bit more aggressive in decided what you (the most important person in this situation) want.

EDIT: I forgot to say congratulations, it's nice to see that you're drawing attention and whatever you decide to do goodluck.

To become a Youtube partner you have to apply for it.

If you were contacted by a company wanting to recruit you then it's considered a sponsorship not a partnership, it's most likely a scam.

Also, contacting you through inbox instead of email is a little unorthodox don't you think?

I talked to Daboki on skype, he seems to think its legit and to not get too worried. He said that alot of new partner companies inbox you on YouTube to try to build their reputation. But I re messaged the guy and told him im not interested. When Im ready for partnership I'll go looking myself

http://www.acifinnetwork.com/ Their website.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_3rd2O9Lok This guy has 2.5k subs and 310 videos and he seems pretty legit.
http://www.youtube.com/user/AcifinNetwork/videos?view=0 Their channel only has like 480 subscribers but they post videos from their members(?) and most of those people have a decent amount of subs.

I'm not saying do it, I'm just saying put a bit more effort into researching before automatically saying no because they seem sketchy.
@TickleMeChad:

Pretty much what I posted meant that they will normally only contact you via e-mail, not any other methods (such as inboxing on youtube)

I googled it and I would definitely seem skeptical about the whole thing, as your thread actually appears on page 1 of google results lol
Thanks, yeah I thought it seemed weird after I gave my email *sigh* Why did I have a stupid moment there.

Well I did a little bit of research and they are legit, but I've heard a couple negative reviews of them.

@PonyCard, He said a credit card isn't needed. but there is no way im going to give my card info to someone or some company ive never heard of.
@TickleMeChad: They tell you they are legitimate networks and can get you partnered but are not and i'm not sure what exactly it says in the youtube ToS but theres something in there that can get you in trouble. sorry I have to give Shatty general answers liek this i'm just not very knowledgable in this subject. Also after doing a couple more searches i've found 3 guys who claim to be partnered by them all 3k subs and under and probably 7 or so who claim to be "recruiters" if they had 700k subs across their network i'm sure more than 3 guys with +3k subs would come up.
Sucks, he has my email address cuz im stupid ._.. Luckily its not an email I use for anything important. But I don't think im going to accept.
You post a youtube video you made, and we will tell you if someone would have taken the time to try and recruit you.
You can just youtube search my ign, I don't want to advertise my channel.

@CherryPop, Im not sure how they found me It sounds suspicious. They just randomly Inboxed me. I searched into the company and they seem legit, and there are Youtubers talking about how they're now partnered with Acifin. I don't know what to believe.

@Assumptions, yeah you have to apply. The way he talked makes me even more skeptical. I don't think im going to accept. He said he'll do all the work, and I just have to accept and give my email address along with my skype. Sounds sketchy.

Try do some research. I believe it's most likely a scam, since it sounds too good to be true. Besides, how did they even find you?

Who uses you tube partners now.. honestly I don't get what the point of them is, If you want money from you tube you have to have enough viewers first.

OT: Don't do it
